Director Francis Lawrence On Constantine Sequel
Francis Lawrence revealed, “We don’t have a script, but Keanu, me, and Akiva [Goldsman] who all worked on the first one together have all been trying over the years to get another one going.”
The director also talked about the issues regarding who is holding the copyrights. As he spoke to the interviewer, “It’s been tricky because of the DC/Vertigo world and who owns the character and who has control over the characters, trying to get the right people to go forward. We’ve got that now and now we need the story. We’d all love to do it.”
When the interviewer tried to gather more information regarding the project, he just said, “sworn to secrecy” and put an end to the topic.

Several Hollywood reports and rumors suggested that Constantine 2 is under development. The fans are wondering about the latest update, as the film went into action a few weeks before James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios.
While addressing fans’ demand, Gunn wrote on his Twitter, “all our initial focus is on the story going forward, hammering out the new DCU, & telling the Biggest Story Ever Told across multiple films, television shows, & animated projects. We invite all of the DC fandoms from across the multiverse – and everyone else as well – into this new universe. We can’t wait to reveal more.”

What Will Constantine Offer & How Does He Fit Inside DCU?
Fans loved when Keanu Reeves starring Constantine, first hit the theatres. The actor then ditched the iconic comic book look of blonde hair and the British accent. But after two decades, we will probably see him again playing a superhero role. Constantine is not a typical superhero, as he plays more of a flawed hero in the story.
A Justice League Dark movie was also under development. It got canceled after DC’s many cinematic projects came out to be a disaster.
Possibly, the Constantine sequel might set up a Justice League Dark movie. We have already seen Justice Society of America on the big screen without a proper introduction in Black Movie.
Black Adam movie also teased a little scene of Hell and its demons as they are still trying to find a loophole to unleash all the monsters on Earth. But whether it was a direct reference to Constantine or Lucifer is still being determined.
