José de Jesús Zalce Benítez, the director of the Scientific Institute for Health of the Mexican Navy, shared scans of the bodies with members of Congress, highlighting features such as retractable necks, the absence of teeth, large brain sizes, and prominent eyes capable of “wide stereoscopic vision.”
