The currently ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict has laid bare the communal faultlines between various religious groups.
There has been a rise in anti-semitism with instances of attacks on synagogues. Also, in many countries, Jewish people’s houses are marked by the star of David.
Multiple groups that advocate against anti-semitism and discrimination have condemned such actions. However, it looks like Elon Musk is not among those people.
On November 16, 2023, Elon Musk agreed with Twitter/X user @breakingbaht’s anti-semitic views by saying, “You have said the actual truth” when the latter posted- “Jewish communities have been pushing dialectical hatred against whites.” Musk’s words prompted ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt to say he was encouraging anti-semitism.
What Did Elon Musk Say About Anti-semitism?
Elon Musk has an eye-watering net worth of around $225 billion. He owns mega companies like Tesla and Twitter/ X. Suffice to say, what he says matters because thousands listen to his words.
While he has said questionable things in the past, Musk’s latest words have sent shockwaves throughout the internet.
This is because no one expected him to be capable of such brazenness or willing to give into a deep web conspiracy theory.
It all began when Twitter/ X user @CWBOCA said:
“To the cowards hiding behind the anonymity of the internet and posting ‘Hitler was right’: You got something you want to say? Why don’t you say it to our faces…”
Twitter/ X user @breakingbaht replied to this tweet by shockingly saying:
“Jewish communties have been pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them. I’m deeply disinterested in giving the tiniest shit now about western Jewish populations coming to the disturbing…”
Elon Musk agreed with the above poster and replied, “You have said the actual truth.” That’s not all. In further tweets, he elaborated on his stance.
Elon said that the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) attacks white people because they can’t go against “their own tenets and criticize the minority groups who are their primary threat.”
After being prompted by a replier not to generalize the entire Jewish community, Musk rolled back his venom a little and said, “This does not extend to all Jewish communities, but it is also not just limited to ADL.”
In the end, the billionaire said that he was offended by any group that was pushing “de facto anti-white racism or anti-Asian racism or racism of any kind” and wanted it to stop altogether.
His words have added fuel to a deep simmering conspiracy theory that states that Jews want to reduce white populations by bringing in undocumented minorities in Western countries.
The anti-semitic conspiracy further says that Jews encourage the intermixing of different races so that completely white people can be wiped out over the decades or be reduced to a minority.
Online hate groups mainly espouse this rhetoric; now, Elon Musk does, too. However, this isn’t the first time the multi-billionaire has spouted anti-semitic words.
He had previously blamed the Anti-Defamation League for causing a decrease in the U.S. advertising revenue on X/Twitter. The group has been especially critical of Musk’s takeover of the platform.
Also, they had reported that there was a rise in various kinds of hate speech since he became the owner of the site. On Thursday, November 16, 2023, ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt accused Elon of encouraging anti-semitism. He said:
“At a time when antisemitism is exploding in America and surging around the world, it is indisputably dangerous to use one’s influence to validate and promote antisemitic theories. #NeverIsNow”
The owner of Tesla didn’t comment anything further regarding this issue.
What do you think of Elon Musk’s tweets pushing anti-semitism? Do you believe in the right-wing conspiracy theory about Jews pushing for the eradication of White people?
