Black Panther 2: Who Is Wakanda’s King? (Explained)

While many fans wonder who the next Black Panther will be, Wakanda Forever shed some light on the reveal, but who is the next king of Wakanda?

Spoiler Alert: If you haven’t seen Black Panther 2 and don’t want to get spoiled, kindly skip this.

At the end of Wakanda Forever, It is revealed that M’Baku is actually the nation's king at the ceremonial waterfall.

Furthermore, Actor Winston Duke spoke with Esquire and confirmed this.

When asked about the new king of Wakanda, Winston Duke said, “Yeah, it’s kind of cool to be revealed as the King of Wakanda at the end of the movie. That’s huge. So whatever that entails, it’s gonna be a fun one.”

Regarding why he isn’t the next Black Panther, He said, “You know, I love the support that I've gotten from the fans. I think the strength of Black Panther has always been the ensemble.”

“You know what I mean? It's always been Black Panther's had to lean on everyone around him. Whether M'Baku's the next anything, it's still gonna be a great ensemble piece.”

When asked about a spin-off of the Jabari Tribe, Duke said, “I'd love to see a spin-off for M'Baku. I said it before, and I'll say it again.”

He added, “The Jabari culture is so rich, there's so much. They are an entity onto themselves in the mountains. And, in the process, we did a lot of work.”

We will leave that to the fans and Marvel Studios to pick it up. What do you guys think?
