Even though fans of Penn and Teller: Fool Us loved watching Alyson appearing week in and week out, it looks like she won’t be able to stay with the show any longer.
On May 18, 2023, when the show was renewed for a tenth season, they announced that Brooke Burke would replace Alyson Hannigan as the new host but didn’t reveal the reason behind her departure.
However, according to the speculations from several fans on Reddit, Alyson is participating in Dancing with the Stars as a self-contestant, which is currently in its 32nd season.
Who Is the New Host, Brooke Burke?
Brooke Lisa Burke is a popular actress known for her works on CBS’ Rock Star, Entertainment Tonight, and Hidden Heroes.
She participated in Dancing with the Stars in November 2008 as a self-contestant and won the seventh season by beating Warren Sapp and his partner, Kym Johnson.
Eventually, she served as the hostess for Dancing with the Stars from season ten to season seventeen, and in 2023, she joined Penn and Teller: Fool Us as the host, which many fans are excited about.
Will Alyson Hannigan Return to Penn and Teller: Fool Us?
Alyson Hannigan, without a doubt, has been incredible for Penn and Teller: Fool Us for seven consecutive seasons, so seeing her leave the show is quite a hard pill to swallow.
It comes as no surprise that many would be wondering whether Alyson would return for the show someday, but it is unlikely because Alyson has always been someone to try out new things.
She’s often busy with her family, attaining success in real estate, and is also seen consistently playing older roles in movies and TV shows, thanks to her influence from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and other credits.
Furthermore, Alyson may not have left the show of her own volition but because of mutual understanding between the creators and the host. So, it is highly unlikely that Alyson may return as a host anytime soon.
Perhaps it was the best decision for Alyson and fans to have a new face for the show because the ratings have gone down drastically compared to the previous seasons.

Totally disappointed that Alyson isn’t back with the new series.. That is what I was waiting for. She had class and brains too. She was a big part of the show. Now very mediocre. Shame on you P&T! Not going to watch anymore.
Maybe the ratings went down because the show feels more and more contrived. Even Penn and Teller feel like they’ve lost some energy for the thing.
Alyson had personality, Brooke is outstanding to look at. To each their own.
I was a fan of Alyson – she was cute and funny. The new one has no personality, only younger and a new look to the show. If you go to Vegas you can see many bodies similar and after a while who cares. Too bad Penn & Teller. The show lost some pizzazz.
Brooke is 2 years older than Alyson
Alyson has a bubbly personality that really is a crucial element of the integral part of the show. Penn and Teller would be better at hosting now that she has left.
Brooke Burke was a HUGE mistake. Almost as big a mistake as that outfit she wears. Her personality and that outfit makes her a better candidate for walking the streets of Vegas than taking Alyson’s place. My enjoyment of the show has gone WAY down.
I’m a 70yo, it’s a shame to see Alyson go. She is cute, happy and funny and fully clothed on screen that’s important these days, too much flesh exposed, just for ratings and profit.
What a downgrade with flash your body Brook versus Alyson.
Burke has zero personality. I’m disappointed that Penn & Teller did this for whatever reason.

I miss Alyson on Penn & Teller Fool Us, she was a wonderful host and lady, I’m not impressed with Brook at all. what she is wearing tonight, 1/1/2024 is not becoming of her.
Alyson was the best. I wish her luck on DWTS and in her future endeavors.

Not really a Brooke fan. Always wondered why Allison wore the same dowdy outfit every show and the same awful shoes. As seen on DWTS she can also be glamourized also. Was this of her choice or what?

Alyson has personality plus. Brooke shows her main assets by her clothes.
i don’t like the new host at all also i don’t like the Penn is saying more sexual suggestive comments since the new host is on the show. i hope things change because i don’t plan on watching long term if this behavior continues. it is disrespectful to the new host and women viewers!
I don’t suppose it occurred to anyone that ratings went down because of the fake audiences.
