Henry Cavill is returning as Superman reveals movie scooper!

With DCEU’s biggest theatrical project of 2022, Black Adam being just weeks away from its worldwide release on October 21, 2022, speculations regarding The Rock’s claims that “the hierarchy of power in the DC universe is about to change,” are at an all-time high.

Fans have been eying every new footage released, which only adds to the ever-growing hype around the movie. But amidst all the amusement for The Rock’s DCEU debut that floats on the web, there still exists plenty of curiosity for Henry Cavill’s potential return to the universe as Superman.

Cavill was last seen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League in 2021. However, his character Superman has made relatively shorter appearances, with an unknown actor playing his part in both Shazam (2019) and Peacemaker’s final episode.

Earlier, there was a rumor that Henry would make a surprise entry at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, but we all know how the events turned out to be as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson got booed at the stage when he hinted that Henry Cavill might not return as Superman. This led to great disappointment in the fandom and criticism of Warner Bros. and DC for not giving fans what they wanted.

But it seems Warner Bros. and DC are not that bad at keeping things under the cover, and they’re hiding Cavill’s cameo as a surprise to fuel the movie’s business at the box office and whatnot. A scooper revealed on Twitter that Henry Cavill is making a comeback as ‘The Last Son of Krypton.’ Take a look.

Yes Henry Cavill is back he has the classic suit with the Willams score and he says "We need to talk Black Adam"

Although fans didn’t seem to get along with the idea behind Henry Cavill appearing as the classic Superman along with John Williams’s evergreen Superman theme filling the scene, this news has made fans excited about how the events of the movie would turn out to be as Black Adam genuinely believes that no one on this planet could stop him.

And truth be told, Hans Zimmer’s theme really fits well with the dark and brooding version of Superman that the DCEU has been trying to capitalize on, and to imagine the latest appearance of Zack Snyder’s Superman to come out with John William’s theme is already a tough job.

Another tweet hints that it’ll be Amanda Waller who’d contact Superman to deal with Black Adam. If you know Waller, We all can agree that she is a badass female character in the DC comics. That woman will go to any lengths just to prove her point. Have a look at the below tweet which might end up as a credit scene.

Waller tells Black Adam he better not leave Khandaq. That it's his prison now. He says something like "Or what!? thereโ€™s no one on this planet that can stop me." and she says in that case sheโ€™ll get someone not from this planet to deal with him.

Talking about several other rumors that hinted at Henry Cavill’s potential comeback to the DCEU, insider KC Walsh posted a Tweet with a scene from the ‘Darkness’ TV Spot for Black Adam that is a dialogue exchange between Black Adam and another character.

Fans were quick to respond to this Tweet with their own set of theories, along with Walsh replying to a Tweet hinting that this Cameo would be quite an important one, unlike the one we got in Shazam, as Superman’s head was never shown in the scene because Henry Cavill wasn’t available to play his part.

Should the rumors of Superman appearing in Black Adam turn out to be true, DC would definitely find itself back on its feet as a star as big as The Rock, who’s so dearly invested in this project, sharing the screen with fan-favorite Henry Cavill is nothing to sleep on.

DC has already received praise for how well it showcased Peacemaker, thanks to James Gunn’s direction, and it looks like DC wouldn’t mind getting all the attention when Marvel is facing some amount of criticism regarding its handling of the characters and how it’s phase 4 is not turning out as good as it was expected to be.

But that’s a discussion for another day. How excited are you for Black Adam? Let us know what you think about Henry Cavill’s DCEU comeback in the comments!
