“Something that people have wanted for a long time” – Ryan Reynolds on Deadpool 3
We have hit the mother load of comic book cinematic content this year. From great TV shows to upcoming movies to be released, comic fans have a lot to be happy about. Among these joyous reasons, there is one that no one was expecting. The Deadpool 3 trailer.
Well, we knew the movie was coming pretty soon, but it was how Ryan Reynolds announced it and who would be in it. If you haven’t been living under a rock, then you already know that Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the franchise’s third installment.
What makes this all even better is that Deadpool 3 will be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So, we’re going to see a lot more hero interactions.
Deadpool 3 will be directed by Shawn Levy (Free Guy, Adam Project) and written by Rob Liefield (Deadpool, Deadpool 2). Both these individuals have done tremendous jobs in their previous projects and work very well with Ryan Reynolds. It is safe to assume that Deadpool 3 will also be well-rounded. You can’t go wrong with the Merc with a Mouth.

The movie has garnered much buzz since its announcement, and the cast has been hounded with a million questions. How would Deadpool fit into the MCU? How exactly will Wolverine be introduced?
Most of these questions will probably be left unanswered until the very movie. The suspension may be painful, but the wait will be worth it. Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds spoke with Forbes about the film and its fan reactions. When Interviewer Jeff Conway asked Reynolds about what it felt like to bring his character back to the big screen and if he had seen fan reactions, Reynolds had this to say.
“I couldn’t be more excited. I mean, especially to do it this way. Ultimately, I get to work with some of my closest friends in the world, and that doesn’t happen every day working in this business. I’m thrilled, and I’ve been sitting on those couple of teasers for a few weeks now. It’s one of those moments where you’re hitting send or a tweet or a post – your hand is shaking when you’re messing with the zeitgeist in a way like that. It’s been amazing. I feel the same way that the fans do, though. I feel as excited that this character is coming back for another ride, particularly in this context. I think it’s something that people have wanted for a long time, to get this pairing up on the big screen, and that’s what we aim to do.” – Ryan Reynolds (via Forbes)

The Free Guy star apparently knew exactly what he was doing and how important this was to the fans. No one in their right mind would have believed that Hugh Jackman would return to play Wolverine. The character had a wholesome ending in Logan, and everyone thought that was it. He was the only one to play it, and it would have been hard to imagine someone else assuming the role.
However, it seems Reynolds has had his ear to the ground and wants to give the fans what they want. It will be interesting to see how these two characters match up on the screen. Their off-screen chemistry is great, and we hope it bleeds into the movie.
Over the last two days, another piece of news broke that fan favorite Zazie Beetz will return to play Domino. This character, who has luck on her side, was a refreshing addition to the second Deadpool movie and would be a great addition to an already power-packed cast.
Even Blind Al is coming back. How cool is that?
