In late June, The internet has been bombarded with negativity for The Batman.

Firstly, Its the actor Robert Pattinson not cooperating with the training regime, and then there were multiple rumors of disputes between the captain of the ship, Matt Reeves and Pattinson.

This news was settled over time but it seems that WB is still left with two different cuts for the film.

A new report from The Hollywood Reporter claims that Warner Bros. has screened two alternate cuts of The Batman film to test the audience and the studio finally green lits one.

Having considered WB’s past record with trimming down a film or even reshooting scenes. This could be trouble for DC fans.

Initially, Matt Reeves was given full creative freedom to make a Batman trilogy that people has never seen before.

By the looks of the trailer, The director has done just that but WB wanted more.

It seems like Warner Bros. was looking to add an important character that connects the first film to the trilogy.

If this is true, Rumors of The Eternals star, Barry Keoghan playing a secret role may well be in reach.

Apart from The Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman, WB is looking to add Batman’s nemesis The Joker in the new fixture.

Multiple reports have already speculated that Barry Keoghan will be portraying the Crown Prince of Crime in the upcoming Batman film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, WB’s repeated delay was because of their inability to decide between the inclusion of a new character in The Batman.

The difference between these two cuts was the inclusion and exclusion of the new mysterious character and WB has finally made its call.

Though there are no exact confirmations on whether Barry Keoghan will be playing the Joker or not. It is safe to assume that Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. will be using a wild card here.

If you ask us, Anyone from Batman’s rogue gallery would be fine but the new supervillain should take the stakes higher.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman features Stanley Merkel played by Barry Keoghan as a GCPD officer.

The actor was known to star in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk and Marvel’s Eternals.

First appeared in Batman #405, Merkel is seen fighting alongside Jim Gordon. He was a partner to Gordon in the police department and a dear friend to the commissioner.

Unfortunately, Stanley Merkel was killed by Hangman as he was found by Batman hanging from a tree in front of Harvey Dent’s house.

This could also mean that everyone related to Merkel from the DC comics might appear in The Batman film. Maybe Warner Bros. is planning something good for fans.

It isn’t a bad choice to go with two different cuts in the Batman and is definitely not a new thing in the industry.

Many films have done it in the past and will continue to do it in the future. This is because every project continues to evolve as we produce.

There is no such thing as a strict script without any major changes to it but this seems to be trouble for the studio.

With so many star actors on board in The Batman, WB has already spent a fortune on it.

Now with two fully finished cuts in their hands, Warner Bros. definitely has to up their overall budget for the film.

What seems to look like a solo fixture of the Cape Crusader is expected to cost at least 400 million dollars with the alternate cuts and the production.

Though WB can make it all when the film gets released, It depends on the overall run and the decision they made with the final cut.
