The “Karenators” are back again! And this time, the vile forces are even more despicable in their thinking.
A war can send tremors beyond the borders, splitting the world into two. The Israel-Hamas conflict is a testament to how humanity comes last after geopolitics, religion, beliefs, and faith.
Here, we are at a point where people are at each other’s throats for polarizing opinions. Even then, people deserve the benefit of the doubt since the war has taken such a sensitive turn. But to cross someone’s personal boundaries and spew hatred is a violation in itself.
Among these immoral stances, the Karens are rising again with their racist propaganda.
On November 6, 2023, a 48-year-old woman, Hadasa Karavanibozak, confronted a man of Indian descent, Ashish Prashar, wearing a Keffiyeh (a traditional Palestinian garment). And if the verbal altercation wasn’t enough, the woman threw her coffee at Prashar, who was also holding his 18-month-old son at a Fort Greene playground. Reportedly, the woman hurled drinks at Prashar and his son, assuming that he was from Palestine.
On November 21, 2023, Hadasa Karavanibozak turned herself in to the police. She now faces severe charges two weeks after the incident.
Everything We Know About Hadasa Karavanibozak And Her Islamophobic Incident
After the clip was uploaded of the November 6 incident, the video went viral in a matter of a few hours. No one knew who the unhinged woman in the video was, who didn’t even think twice before yeeting her drinks on an innocent man and a toddler.
It was recently revealed that the woman in the video is Hadasa Karavanibozak, an American Jew. Clearly, she has set her bias, which is still not an issue. But to assault someone just because of your radical beliefs can land you in the “foolish people” jail.
The 48-year-old hateful ‘Karen’ was unprovoked and invaded someone’s personal space. The Zionist woman from Brooklyn now faces charges for her misconduct and blatant Islamophobia.
Why Did the Brooklyn Woman Throw Coffee at a Man and His Toddler?
Ashish Prashar (40) and his 18-month-old son were playing at Edmonds Playground in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, New York on November 6. Out of nowhere, Prashar’s eye caught a woman charging at them. She then hurled her drinks at Prashar, who was also holding his toddler.
Without even considering the circumstances, the unhinged woman threw her drinks at them while yelling at him and striking them with her phone and a drink.
Prashar recalls the harrowing time to CNN News–
“My whole goal was to protect my son.”
“There was disbelief in the beginning when she called me a terrorist. But then it got worse, and it got more serious. I needed to protect my son and keep him at a safe distance.”
“She threw her hot coffee in my face.”
“I had just put my son down. It would have hit him in the face. I was mind blown.”
This incident sparked an online uproar due to the visibly evident hate crime. Even the New York Police Department was searching for this woman. But what exactly triggered the woman to take such drastic actions?
Ashish Parashar, an American of Indian descent, was wearing a keffiyeh.
Keffiyeh is a black and white pattern scarf traditionally worn by Palestinians. To put into perspective– the origins of Prashar’s name evidently stem from Hindu roots. Regardless of whether or not he practices the religion, Prashar does not identify as a Muslim. Wearing the scarf is a statement of his support for Palestine.
The woman’s conduct was undoubtedly racist and a hate crime. She is now identified as Hadasa Bozakkaravani and was arrested on November 21, 2023. She is charged with four hate crimes, including assault, assault of a person under 11, reckless endangerment, aggravated harassment, and menacing.
Prashar told NBC News–
“This is post-9/11 again,”
“Like every brown person now is a target. We’ve been completely dehumanized by our president and our institutions.”
“No parent should feel unsafe to take their child to a playground because someone decides you are less than human.”
Prashar’s plight makes sense after the whole world, especially the USA, is marred by a series of racist incidents. In one instance, a young athlete duo made racist gestures at a pro-Israeli march. Then, a couple of finance bros landed in hot waters for assault and verbal abuse of a Palestinian man. But the most harrowing incident was when a landowner stabbed a 5-year-old Palestinian boy.
Since the war started, hate crimes in the USA have skyrocketed, reflecting how one war creates a butterfly effect around the globe.
What are your thoughts on this case? Do you think the woman should be sentenced to harsher punishment?
