Every morning, loyal viewers tuned into NewsNation for their reliable morning fix from co-hosts Adrienne Bankert and Markie Martin.
Adrienne’s absence from the morning news left fans scratching their heads, wondering what exactly happened to her. So, has she left the network and ventured elsewhere? If so, where did she go?
Anchor Adrienne Bankert hasn’t left NewsNation but shifted towards investigative journalism. Nexstar announced her transition from morning news anchor to Special Projects anchor on January 11, 2024. She’ll lead the new series “One Nation Under God,” premiering in February 2024.
Where Has Adrienne Bankert Vanished? Is She Still with Newsnation?
Adrienne Bankert, an Emmy award-winning journalist, joined NewsNation in 2021 after co-anchoring “Morning in America” and covering national affairs.
With a career at ABC News, she reported on significant events like presidential campaigns and the Thai cave rescue. Beyond news, she’s engaged with entertainment figures and authored “Your Hidden Superpower.”
Partnering with Markie Martin, Adrienne co-hosted NewsNation’s morning broadcast, aiming to deliver less partisan news than its competitors.
Discussing the morning show’s expansion to a four-hour format in 2023, Adrienne shared:
“Breakfast is pretty quick for Americans and, obviously, there’s not going to be people who watch all four hours, quite typically, but we will have something for everybody. We will have more of a conversation around the anchor table.”
However, despite their efforts, NewsNation still falls behind in viewership compared to major news channels. But Adrienne’s presence on the show became a staple in the morning routines of many Americans.
However, Adrienne’s journey took a new turn on January 11, 2024, when Nexstar announced her transition to NewsNation’s Special Projects anchor.
This shift will see her spearheading a new series titled “One Nation Under God,” set to premiere in February 2024.
So, despite concerns about Adrienne’s departure, she hasn’t bid adieu to NewsNation. Instead, her career trajectory has taken a different route, focusing more on investigative journalism.
NewsNation wrote on its website:
“The weekday edition of Morning in America will transition to a three-hour program with solo anchor Markie Martin from 6-9 a.m. EST. Morning in America co-host Adrienne Bankert will become NewsNation’s Special Projects anchor and begin a new series centered on faith in America debuting in February 2024 entitled, ‘One Nation Under God.’”
The series promises a deep exploration of faith in America, highlighting its multifaceted aspects and societal significance.
This move signifies a significant milestone for Adrienne, granting her more autonomy in choosing stories and delving deep into investigative journalism.
Her LinkedIn profile was also updated to reflect this transition, showcasing her evolution within the network.
So, for those missing Adrienne’s presence on their screens, fret not! She’ll soon return with her upcoming special program, “One Nation Under God,” offering audiences a nuanced perspective on faith in America.
As Adrienne embarks on her new endeavor, it prompts us to ponder: What impact does faith have on American society, and how does it shape cultural narratives? Additionally, how can investigative journalism shed light on topics often overlooked in mainstream media?
