For the first time in this era, we are witnessing a special hearing dedicated to UFOs. The public hearing in the US Congress meeting has piqued a global interest.
On July 26, the congressional committee invited three key witnesses who presented their accounts of the unnatural sightings and how they were prohibited from divulging any details.
The first key witness is David Grusch, a whistleblower who formerly served as the intelligence officer. Just last month, Grusch claimed that there are “intact and partially intact” alien vehicles under US’s possession. He also laid accusations that the “governement is covering up its knowledge on UFOs.”
He was accompanied by two former fighter pilots who attested to these claims. Allegedly, the US military has been actively investigating UAP sightings.
What Is UAP?
NASA announced on June 9, 2022, that a group of researchers will be commissioned to study and examine unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs). As per the definition, these are the events in the sky that cannot be identified as aircraft or known natural phenomena – from a scientific perspective.
These sightings cannot be immediately inferred as related to extraterrestrials. Even UFOs (unidentified flying objects) can be anything from a weather balloon to a drone.
Grusch’s claims clearly mention that he is talking about UAP, for which he served as a representative on two Pentagon task forces. While he was working on the classified project, he was informed of “a multi-decade UAP crash retrieval and reverse-engineering program” for which he was denied access.
The UFO Hearings Explained
Here are the top highlights from the hearing:
- Grush made serious claims that the US Department of Defense Agency has pressured him not to disclose anything related to a “multi-decade” program that collected and reverse-engineered crashed UFOs.
Grusch was a part of the UAP study until 2023 and told the lawmakers that he faced “very brutal retaliation” for his allegations. In a more severe claim that involves lives at stake, he said he has knowledge of “people who have been harmed or injured” as an attempt by the US government to conceal UFO information.
Congressman Tim Burchett investigated these claims further by asking if he knew anyone who had been harmed. Grusch replied with a straight: “Yes.”
And when asked if anyone was murdered, he replied:
“I directed people with that knowledge to the appropriate authorities.”
- Pentagon denied all allegations of any cover-up. The defense department spokesperson revealed that investigations concluded that they did not discover “any verifiable information to substantiate claims that any programs regarding the possession or reverse-engineering of extraterrestrial materials have existed in the past or exist currently.”
- Two other witnesses issued their statements:
David Fravor, a former Navy commander: spotted a strange object in the sky in a 2004 training mission.
Ryan Graves, a retired Navy pilot: Saw UAP off the Atlantic coast “every day for at least a couple years.” He also founded a UAP non-profit, Americans for Safe Aerospace. He described the sightings as– “dark grey or black cubes inside of clear sphere.”
“The apex or tips of the cube were touching the inside of the sphere.”
- Due to vague answers and withholding significant information, Grusch’s statements didn’t sound convincing to many. Even when Democratic representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with Rep. James Raskin asked a question to the three witnesses, they basically gave no direct answers, rather asked her to contact them for further details personally.
Garrett Graff, a journalist and historian, tweeted on Grusch’s testimony:
“Very interesting to me that Dave Grusch is unwilling to state and repeat under oath at the #UFOHearings the most explosive – and outlandish – of his claims from his NewsNation interview. He seems to be very carefully dancing around repeating them.”
- Republican congressman Glenn Grothman, the chair of the House subcommittee on national security, the border, and foreign affairs, said in his closing remarks: “Obviously, I think several of us are going to look forward to getting some answers in a more confidential setting. I assume some legislation will come out of this.”
What are your thoughts on the hearing? Do you believe the three witnesses? Do you believe the government is hiding an imminent danger, or is this another conspiracy theory?
