After a roller-coaster time-ride with season 6, Rick and Morty are back at it again with their scientific shenanigans. However, season 7 will incorporate major restructuring in the cast.
Although there is limited information on the next season, here are some of our plot predictions and estimated release dates.
Rick and Morty Season 7 Plot
You are missing out on the potential plot lines if you can’t catch the easter eggs. The show is notorious for dropping clues in the finale episode of each season. But in season 6, they hammered down the fourth wall to address the audience on the next storyline.
*Spoilers Alert*
In the final moments of the last episode of season 6, Rick, in his usual tipsy state, blurts out a major hint–
“Rick and Morty season seven. Hunting my nemesis. Maybe trying to stay healthy while doing it, juggling plates – not every episode, Morty, it could be all happening in the background. Who knows?”
This implies that “Weird Rick,” also known as Rick Prime, will return to the season as the main antagonist. Original Rick’s ultimate mission would be to defeat the weird one to restore order.
The previous season also revealed an unsettling truth. As refreshing as it was to see Rick being more considerate and kinder to Morty in the last episode, it turns out that the 22% nicer Rick was not the real Rick Sanchez.
It was actually a robot built by Rick Sanchez, programmed to be nicer to Morty and his family while he was hunting down Rick Prime. Yes, It is disturbing to know that a robot could feel more like a family, but that’s the beauty of the show… it lies in the darkest humor.
Season 6 also introduces Pissmaster, a green alien and the main antagonist who commits suicide after the neighborhood perceives him as a laughing stock. Later Rick Sanchez assumes his identity and changes his persona to be a hero. And just when you think it can’t get any weirder, there is some uncanny relationship between Beth and Space Beth.
Season 7 would probably harp on the continuation of these plotlines while also exploring the edgy family dynamics, interdimensional multi-universes, and a plethora of doppelgangers.

Rick and Morty Season 7 Cast
Adult Swim announced a significant change in the cast as Justin Roiland left the show. This will put a major hiccup in the dubbing, but fans are assured that it would not impact the show much, which is firmly rooted in its excellent writing.
These are the expected Rick and Morty season 7 cast :
- Chris Parnell as Jerry Smith
- Spencer Grammer as Summer Smith
- Sarah Chalke as Beth Smith and Space Beth
Why Is Justin Roiland Dropped?
The Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland faced abuse allegations somewhere around early 2020. His then-girlfriend alleged that she suffered domestic abuse by Roiland.
As per the BBC news, Justin Roiland is facing charges of– “domestic battery with corporal injury and false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud, and/or deceit.”
Post these allegations; Adult Swim decided to part ways with Justin with an official statement from Adult Swim’s senior VP of communications Marie Moore– “Adult Swim has ended its association with Justin Roiland.”
However, Roiland’s attorney, T Edward Welbourn, maintains that his client is innocent with an official statement-
“To be clear, not only is Justin innocent, but we also have every expectation that this matter is on course to be dismissed once the District Attorney’s office has completed its methodical review of the evidence.”
They are expecting to clear Justin Roiland’s name in the abuse charges.
Meanwhile, the casting replacement is not yet decided, but we sure hope they make the right choice.
