EA and Marvel Games collaborate for an all-new Iron Man Game!
Jarvis, drop the needle!
Electronic Arts (EA) and Marvel Games have come up together to develop a new Iron Man Game. The game is all set to be worked upon under Motive Studio. The video game currently sits in the pre-production phase, with more updates to be released soon from EA’s desk.
With other notable superheroes in their A-list roster, Marvel has been releasing video games for a long time. Under a publishing brand named Marvel Games, prominent video game titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Avengers, and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy have been the talk of the town among pro-gamers and comic book fans alike.
Iron Man, one of the most popular and bankable superheroes in Marvel’s arsenal (thanks to the 2008s Iron Man directed by Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr.’s seamless portrayal of Tony Stark), has arrived at the scene to garner all the attention. After crafting a decade-long cinematic universe on the likes of this armored billionaire superhero, it is clear that Marvel isn’t planning to stop its wagon from creating experiences with Iron Man at the center of it all.
Based on Motive Studio’s recent tweet, the new Iron Man video game packs in a single-player, third-person, action-adventure gaming experience. Here’s the official announcement.

The team crafting this game is led by Olivier Proulx, the executive producer at Motive Studio, Electronic Arts. Olivier, who has worked on past Marvel video games like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, brings with him other passionate industry veterans like Ian Frazier, Maëlenn Lumineau, and JF Poirier, hinting that EA has something praiseworthy in the store for all of us.
“Developed in collaboration with Marvel Games, the game will feature an original narrative that taps into the rich history of Iron Man, channelling the complexity, charisma and creative genius of Tony Stark, and enabling players to feel what it’s like to truly play as Iron Man,” said EA in an announcement as published on their official website.
Marvel Games also acknowledged the collaboration on this project with EA. Bill Rosemann, the Vice President and Creative Director at Marvel Games, had this to say, “We are thrilled to collaborate with the talented team at Motive Studio to bring their original vision of one of Marvel’s most important, powerful and beloved characters, their experience delivering both established entertainment worlds and thrilling gameplay — combined with their authentic passion for the armored icon — will fuel our quest to deliver a love letter to a legendary hero in the form of the ultimate Iron Man video game.”
Accounting to several rumors resurfacing throughout the web about this game, it gave some insights into Motive Studio potentially working on the project post-completion of the upcoming Dead Space remake.
Although expecting a release date this soon would be unfair to the developers putting their heart and soul into the video game, Marvel and Disney have already spread the word about a new untitled game that boasts superheroes like Captain America and Blank Panther while Skydance develops it.

Fans can also expect two more video game projects currently under development. The first is a Wolverine game, and the second is a Spider-Man game, both created by Insomniac Games.
Marvel Games has always brought something new to the table. Back in 1982, when Spider-Man for the Atari 2600 showed up to the latest releases and announcements to date, the video games designed and developed by Marvel share a striking resemblance to their movies. The games have their own storylines, conflict, and resolutions as they tell a story from a different lens. Like Marvel used to do with their comics. (And it still does!)
Like Marvel’s Spider-Man was a great attempt by Marvel to showcase how closely they can tie the storylines to MCU. The same tonal shift of characters, not evolving almost instantly but rather gradually as the story progresses and the narrative broadens.

With this new video game in the works, Marvel might manage to pull that off again. Making the character of Tony Stark come alive as one starts living it inside the game. The layers behind the character, how he grows over time, and whatnot. MCU’s Tony Stark lives today inside the heart of millions of fans (and inside MCU storylines, too!) when Marvel still brought everyone on the same page as the final snap happened.
Showing time and time again that he actually is… Iron Man!
