If you wake up today and find a lot of Gail Lewis memes, it’s not your fault because her video about retiring from Walmart went viral on TikTok and other social platforms.

While not much is known about her, Gail Lewis has been an associate at Walmart for ten years, and she recently quit her job to pursue better opportunities.

It is nothing unusual for a Walmart employee to stay there for ten years because, according to people on Reddit, some people even stay there for twenty years, but why did Gail Lewis become famous?

In the video that went viral, Gail Lewis bids farewell to Walmart, saying, “Attention Walmart. This is Gail Lewis, 10-year associate, Morris, Illinois, 8-4-4, signing out, good night.”

It was a little emotional, but the full video of her made people create memes out of her, even though the context was from her initial words. Following her departure from Walmart, she made another video in a car. Here’s what she said,

“So, today was like the end of an era for me. What you just saw was me signing out for the last time at my Walmart that I have worked for ten years. It’s a happy sad because I’m going to a better job and those people became like family.”

She further mentioned how other employees had her back and how she helped them all these years, including the messed-up pandemic.

Gail Lewis clearly seems to be sad about leaving Walmart, which is understandable because working at a place for ten years brings so many memories and builds a lot of friendships.

That said, the world is seeing it in a new limelight. Although many people are sad for her and respect her work at Walmart, her video became a troll and gave rise to countless memes on the internet.
