While they share their pet’s daily updates, sometimes their loss can be devastating. The same happened with DanTDM as he lost his special dog, Ellie.
DanTDM, whose real name is Daniel Middleton, is an English YouTuber, author, and gamer who rose to fame by playing the popular family-friendly game Minecraft on his YouTube Channel ‘The Diamond Minecart’. While he is not gaming, he would often post about his pug dog, Ellie (or Ellie the Pug). Unfortunately, the dog passed away due to unforeseen circumstances.

DanTDM and his wife, Jemma Middleton, brought the lovely dog into their life and have been devastated ever since the dog’s soul left the world. Taking to his social media on September 6, DanTDM shared the heartbreaking news of Ellie’s death. Sharing photos of his dog, the YouTuber penned a heartfelt note.
“I’m so devastated.. today we unexpectedly lost our little Ellie. Our home feels so weird without her. She’d been with us for everything over the past almost 10 years and I’ll never forget her. Hopefully, I’ll see you again one day, bear❤️,” said the emotional post. While it was shocking news for his fans, many shared condolence messages about the dog in the comment section.
DanTDM also addressed his 27.6M subscribers on YouTube as he shared a video as he broke down in tears talking about Ellie. He captioned the 4 minutes and 45-second video as “goodbye ellie.” As of writing, it has over 2,000,000 views, as many social media users are commenting on their opinions about the dog.
What Happened To Peggy The Pug?
Peggy, or Peggy the Pug, was one of Dan’s dogs who had the same fate as Ellie. She was born on January 11, 2015, in England and passed away on September 17, 2017, at the age of 2. DanTDM found her wandering in a park, indicating that she was a stray, and brought her home. He introduced Peggy in his vlog when he took Ellie to the vet and shared how he got Peggy The Pug.
Upon sharing the news of her death, he captioned the post saying, “Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to Peggy. My heart is broken. We love her so much and miss her so much. Sleep tight, Peggy.”
While it is a hard time for DanTDM and his family, we hope he gets the strength to overcome the tough situations.
