After the BBC scandal went public a few days ago, GB News is allegedly in the same trouble. News presenter Dan Wootton is suddenly in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons after his ex-boyfriend, Alex, accused him of stalking.
In a Twitter thread titled “The worst period of my entire life,” Alex uncovered how the presenter had bullied and stalked him while in the relationship. According to the allegations, Wootton even tracked his emails. Alex became aware of the breach of privacy when he realized his Gmail was being regularly accessed from Wootton’s previous workplace.
However, the worst allegation is yet to be revealed, and before we do that, let’s find out who exactly Dan Wootton is.
Who Is Dan Wootton?
Daniel John William Wootton, better known as Dan Wootton, is a New Zealand-born British broadcaster with citizenship to both countries. He joined News of the World in 2007 and became an editor the same year.
He later joined The Sun on Sunday in 2013 and became an editor the following year. He joined The Sun in 2016 before leaving for GB News in 2021.
In 2013, the presenter announced that he was gay via his Twitter account, and in February 2022, Andrew Brady was jailed for harassing Wootton and falsely accusing him of sexual offenses.
What Is Dan Wootton Being Accused of?
Dan Wootton’s former boyfriend, Alex, is accusing him of stalking and emotionally bullying him during their relationship. Another serious allegation is that Dan was involved in making sex tapes of a Sun employee.
All the accusations were made via a Twitter thread. The thread began with the words: “This is about Dan Wootton, and the things he has done that have been covered up by News UK are MIND-BLOWING”
Alex claims that Dan had all his social media and email passwords till he found out about it. He claims that he found an external hard drive at Dan’s residence that contained a video of a Sun employee involved in intercourse with their partner.
Allegedly, the video looked like it was made in secret and filmed from afar by a hidden camera. Alex also found a transcript of an MSN conversation between the employee’s sexual partner and someone named Martin Branning.
In the conversation, it was indicated that the tape was made in secret in exchange for £500. Alex then came out of the relationship but apparently came in contact with many people who Dan targeted to film more explicit tapes.
Since then, Alex has encountered many victims of Dan’s bullying and predatorial tendencies. The Internet is currently struck by the accusations, and many have shown support for Alex. However, the truth behind the whole narrative is yet to be proven.
Do you think Alex will have enough evidence to bring Dan to court? Or will it be another story of a silenced victim?
