If you’re an avid Call of Duty fan, you’ve likely heard about the massive Season 1 Reloaded update that dropped on January 17, 2024.

It promised a heap of new content, including a 6v6 map, playlist rotation, and exciting game modes. However, as with any grand entrance, things didn’t go as smoothly as planned.

The January 17, 2024, update for Call of Duty Warzone aimed to bring excitement but ended up with multiple bugs. Issues included loot crates malfunctioning and surprise Precision Airstrike killstreaks. Fortunately, Activision and the developers quickly responded, dispatching fixes overnight by January 18. The developers are actively ironing out the remaining hiccups.

What Are the Problems with the Latest Call of Duty: Warzone? When Will It Get Fixed?

The latest January 17, 2024 update for Call of Duty: Warzone was aimed to bring a lot of goodies, but it was a bit of a flop since multiple features were buggy.

The problems ranged from loot crate bugs to Precision Airstrike killstreaks not giving players a heads-up before unleashing destruction.

Activision and the development teams behind COD have been quick to respond to the issues plaguing Warzone after the Season 1 Reloaded update.

Overnight, fixes were dispatched to tackle the game-breaking bugs.

Warzone players should no longer encounter issues with loadout crates or the “Fetching Online Profile” error. In Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer, a Gunsmith problem that kicked players to the main menu when removing an attachment has also been resolved.

But that’s not all. Several other issues were addressed by the COD official Twitter account @CODUpdates:

  • Players may be able to select restricted items in loadouts while matchmaking. Doing so results in a default loadout in-game.
  • They have resolved the issue that was causing some Killstreak Notification Banners not to appear correctly.
  • Players continuing to encounter issues related to using their Loadouts may need to swap out their current Perk Packages or delete/remake Custom Perk Packages.
  • Priceless Camo for the Stormender Launcher can now be unlocked.

But that’s not all.

Warzone was supposed to get new win conditions for battle royale modes with the new update.

However, the player reaction was less than enthusiastic, leading Raven Software to exclude the Covert Exfil conditions from the January 17 patch.

The company even expressed their dissatisfaction with the Champion’s Quest for Warzone, disabling it until further evaluation. On their official Twitter/ X account @RavenSoftware, they wrote:

“Upon deliberation with our teams, we have decided to temporarily disable the new Champion’s Quest feature. At the moment, the current state of the update does not meet our standards for quality and gameplay, and we are committed to addressing the issues promptly to ensure that all players can enjoy #Warzone to the fullest extent possible.”

They further wrote:

“Our goal is always to provide a smooth and seamless experience. With that said, we’ll be reenabling Champion’s Quest at the earliest possible opportunity.”

At the time of writing, Champion’s Quest has been re-enabled. Progress made during the launch period will be saved.

Ranked play, developed by Treyarch for MW3, also faced a delay, but it is now live.

@RavenSoftware glitch since logging in after update, menu just hangs like this. I have reset Xbox console etc with no change. Just FYI. @JustTeddii @SHGames #Warzone #MW3 #COD pic.twitter.com/PI3HLpZAmR

Despite the issues, plenty of new changes exist to explore in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.

A new crossover superhero mode called “Supe’d Up” was introduced, featuring The Boys, offering players the chance to wield temporary powers from downed opponents.

So, the big question remains: when will COD Warzone be completely fixed?

While many issues have been tackled, the developers are actively working to resolve the remaining hiccups and improve the gaming experience.

Stay tuned for updates, and keep your crosshairs steady!

Have you encountered any of the Warzone bugs mentioned, and did the recent fixes improve your gameplay? Are you excited about the changes and new content despite the initial hiccups?
