Cillas Givens was introduced in the 7th season and 17th episode of the show. At the time he was featured, his weight was around 729 pounds (331 kg) at the age of 35. Cillas mentioned how his weight caused him an emotional feeling of isolation when he was a kid.
He revealed that he got addicted to food to comfort him from sadness and pain. Eventually, this habit took a toll on him, and he kept gaining excessive weight over the years. Jessica, his then-girlfriend and now wife, also shared how she wanted to have a normal life with Cillas.
Over the show, Cillas sought help from Dr. Younan Nowzaradan over the show. The doctor prescribed that stay in the hospital to maintain and enhance his diet. In a single month, he lost 139 pounds with the prescribed diet of the doctor. He further reduced 75 pounds in a rehabilitation facility.
Soon, Cillas was approved for weight loss surgery and even had a successful operation. By the end of the show, he had lost almost 388 pounds in a year. His whole journey was inspiring and full of incredible happy moments. He also shared his life after the show on his social media that his mindset for his life is all changed and new.

After leaving the show, there was no turning back for Cillas. He started working out and managed to lose more than 400 pounds while promising to lead a healthy life. Soon, Jessica and Cillas got married and started a normal life with their daughters.
