Imagine being hit by puberty TWICE!
Jeon Jungkook from the most famous boy band in the world, BTS, just released his new solo single ‘Seven.’ Before ranting about why he is so handsome, let us see why he is so talented, aptly titled “Golden Maknae” (jack of all trades).
Jung Kook ‘Seven (feat. Latto)’ Official MV
The ARMY clan was eagerly waiting for the highly anticipated Jungkook’s solo release. Everyone had their own predictions and theories of what the pre-shoot pics of the solo meant. Most believed that the number ‘Seven’ signified his homage to the seven members of BTS. In comparison, others remained unopinionated while drooling on the pics.
Jung Kook’ Seven (feat. Latto)’: Song Review
But not a single soul would have predicted the concept of the MV to be so endearing, dorky, loving, and quirky, all wrapped in Jungkook’s handsomeness. The song is a vibe— it’s groovy, catchy, a bop, and worthy of repeating multiple times to instantly put you in a jovial mood.
However, that’s not the point of contention. While AMRY is busy grooving to the song, the epiphany suddenly hits after listening to the lyrics– our boy Kookie is actually singing about he would satisfy his lover throughout seven days, hence the title.
Overall, the song signifies Jungkook’s autonomy to shed his “idol” image and express himself without barriers.
Jungkook has previously collaborated with Charli Puth, delivering the bop ‘Left and Right‘ on a similar rhythm and beats. But ‘Seven’ subverts every expectation as Jungkook openly confesses his love for his partner and goes to hilariously extreme lengths to persuade her.
By the way, an honorable mention to Han So Hee for ultimately owning the MV with her girl-crush image with a feminine element.
Overall, this was a pretty strong debut for a K-Pop idol venturing solo. Just a few hours after its release on July 14 at 1 p.m. KST, the song escalated to the top of Korea’s music charts like Melon’s Top 100, Bugs’, and Genie’s real-time charts.
The song also broke the ceiling of international charts, topping iTunes in several countries. On July 15, at 9 a.m. KST, ‘Seven’ hit no.1 in 106 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, and Japan.
Meanwhile, his Youtube game is simply untouchable, racking up over 63 million views in 3 days and still trending #1 in music.
Jungkook From Pre-Debut To ‘Seven’
Jeon Jungkook is the youngest (Maknae) and entered BigHit Entertainment (now Hybe) when he was just 15. Apparently, he saw Kim Namjoon (RM) and instantly fell in love with him…uhm…I meant the company. He decided to join a small and unknown music label despite getting offers from seven other top companies.
Jungkook was extremely shy and would always be reserved among the other older members. He was an introvert, but no one could deny the immense potential in the little boy.
His Hyungs (older members) supported him throughout his journey of self-discovery and gaining self-confidence.
- And now, he has surpassed as a soloist:
- He performed at the world cup with his song ‘Dreamers.’
- Set to perform his solo single on Good Morning America
Let’s just say it’s Jungkook’s world, and we are living in it.
Was BTS Jungkook Always This Handsome?
Hybe (BTS label company) released the ‘Seven’ behind the scenes sneak-peek, and the ARMY’s have been glued to their screen ever since.
His visuals have reached beyond comprehension, which made the fans contemplate whether he was always this handsome.
On July 16, a netizen posted on a community forum, questioning how Jungkook got so handsome. They wrote–
Was BTS’s Jungkooks always this handsome?”
“Wow, Jungkook is seriously so handsome. Truthfully, there are no further words that form in my head. This must be the prime example of having both boyish and masculine charms.”
The thread quickly garnered a ton of comments from K-Netizens–
“Whether it’s being sexy or being pure, please just do one at a time TT.”
“Jungkook’s beauty is out of this world.”
“Aside from being handsome, he’s so frickin’ pure and clear looking.”
“He’s super handsome but also super talented, but also a baby and an oppa at the same time.”
He’s pretty but also super handsome. My puppy TT.”
“It’s true that he’s handsome, but his personality is also so kind.”
“His visual is just that of someone born to be an idol.”
“His kind face and a body that is unable to [be so kind].”
“In the laundromat scene, he was seriously so good looking.”
