The long-awaited Paldeam Adventure in Pokémon GO is here, and with it, it has brought plenty of adorable Pokémon you can play out with. Along with exciting special research, the event also places the player in a challenging position.
A Paldean Adventure, which will be running from September 5th -10th, offers players collection challenges and a starter pack where you can only choose one Pokémon.
From recent Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games, three Pokémon, including Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, are being introduced as the starter path, and you can only choose one to adventure with.
If you want to learn more about how each of these Pokémon will fare as a starter and which would be the most optimal choice to get the most out of the game, make sure to read the article until the end.
Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly: How Each Works as a Starter
Before choosing your starter Pokémon, you may want to consider how each one works further into the game because although Pokémon can still be caught in the wild as spawns later in the game, it will give you a fair advantage.
Sprigatito:
- Type: Grass
- Evolutions: Spirgatito > Floragato > Meowscarada
- Evolution Requirements: 25 Candies for Floragato and 100 Candy for Meowscarada
- Fast Attacks: Charm and Leafage
- Charged Attacks: Energy Ball, Grass Knot, and Play Rough
Meowscarada, the final evolution of Sprigatito, offers amazing speed and utility in the original series, which was quite handy when choosing starters.
Furthermore, thanks to its Charm, one of the best fast attacks in the game, it can be beneficial if you intend to participate in competitions.
Unfortunately, though, it doesn’t offer much offensive utility as energy generation is a massive problem for this Pokémon.
Fuecoco:
- Type: Fire
- Evolutions: Fuecoco > Crocalor > Skeledirge
- Evolution Requirements: 25 Candy for Crocalor and 100 Candy for Skeledirge
- Fast Attacks: Bite and Incinerate
- Charged Attacks: Crunch, Disarming Voice, and Flamethrower
Fuecoco’s ultimate form, Skeledirge, is quite opposite to Meowscarada as it possesses a great offensive potential thanks to its fast attack, Incinerate. Furthermore, its charged attacks can also be used in various situations, making it a reliable Pokémon in the game.
Quaxly:
- Type: Water
- Evolution: Quaxly > Quaxwell > Quaquaval
- Evolution Requirements: 25 Candy for Quaxwell and 100 Candy for Quaquaval
- Fast Attacks: Water Gun and Wing Attack
- Charged Attacks: Aerial Ace, Aqua Jet, and Liquidation
Quaquaval is currently being outclassed by many water-type Pokémon, but in the long run, it will be immensely helpful with its future access to Hydro Cannon. Furthermore, Quaxly offers a lot of flexibility, thanks to its highly usable fast and charged attacks.
Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly: What To Pick as a Starter?
Now, this is a tough choice even for veteran Pokémon GO players because each has its benefits in the short and long run.
As seen in the above starter demonstrations, grass-type Sprigatito is well-suited for fast attacks and competitions such as the Jungle Cup or Little Cup. Meanwhile, fire-type Fuecoco seems usable in many situations as it is capable of many attacking skills.
However, the water type Quaxly shows promising potential in the long run due to the Hydro Cannon that will be available for its players in the Quaxly Community event.
It is mostly up to you because you need to pick up a starter that accompanies you until you find a better Pokémon. So, it is objective depending on the person who is choosing. That being said, we believe the best pick among the three is Quaxly.
The reason being, among the final evolutions, Quaquaval, its flexibility of fast and charged attacks will be immensely helpful in PvP and PvE battles as well as due to the Hydro Cannon in the long term, which makes it one of the best water type Pokémon in Pokémon GO.
So, what are you going to choose from the three starters? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
