‘On your left,’ comes sprinting Chris Evans to grab the ‘Sexiest Man Alive: 2022’ title by People’s Magazine. Evans, 41, becomes the third Marvel actor to dawn this mantle. His former superhero colleagues, Chris Hemsworth, aka Thor, and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), were the previous bearers of the Sexiest Man Alive in 2016 and 2021, respectively.
“My mom will be so happy,” said the Avengers actor on the cover story interview with People’s in Atlanta, Georgia. “She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about,” the actor added as the magazine hit the newsstands on Friday.
People’s Magazine announced Chris Evans’ nomination on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show, Monday night, earning him a spot on the Sexiest Man Alive annual list among the likes of stars John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Adam Levine, Richard Gere, Channing Tatum, and David Beckham.

Evans, who last hailed Captain America’s shield in Avengers Endgame, shared his experience, “Really this will just be a point of bullying,” in the interview. “It’s ripe for harassment.”
Having been in Hollywood for twenty-two years, Evans gained major public attention when he played the role of Human Torch in 2005’s Fantastic Four. However, Evans rose to one of the most bankable stars with his take as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, in Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger, released in 2011.
Outside the multi-billion-dollar giant Marvel Studios, Chris Evans has also been a part of other successful movie ventures like Netflix’s Gray Man as a sadistic assassin opposite Ryan Gosling, along with playing the voice of Buzz Lightyear in Pixar’s Lightyear.
Over the years, Evans has created a name for himself, churning out high-grossing films each year, putting him in a safe spot where he can step aside from the sets and enjoy life.
Even he admits this, “The most enjoyable aspect of my career right now is feeling secure enough to take my foot off the gas.” Chris has got several upcoming projects lined up, but before the work commences, he’d definitely not shy away from choosing films that spark his inner creativity. “I feel like I have a bit more freedom to take time away from the industry and still find projects that will satisfy my creative appetite when I return.”
Chris Evans will be seen next opposite Dwayne “the rock” Johnson in action-adventure-packed Red One, all set to hit Amazon Prime in 2023. He’ll also appear in other projects, including 2023’s Ghosted for AppleTV+, for which he’ll sit on the producer’s chair as well.

The shooting for Red One commenced on Monday while Evans would find himself sitting beside a fireplace in a cozy knit sweater and jeans, going through the script rather than flaunting the new-achieved accolade. The humble actor is looking forward to more such accomplishments that will get his name out to the public. Until then, he’s just embracing what he currently has. “It’s something that as I become old and saggy I can look back on and say ‘I remember then…’ ” he said. “I’m lucky to be in the discussion in any capacity.”
