Fans eagerly anticipated Jump Festa 2024 and were excited about the Shueisha properties set to be featured. 

Last year’s announcements from popular series like  One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Black Clover have heightened their excitement. 

With even more series planned for this year’s event, fans were truly a momentous experience.

So, what did the Jump Festa bring this time?

The Jump Festa 2024 occurred at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Chiba City on December 16 and 17, 2023. Multiple titles, animes, films, etc., were announced over the two days. Some major news is- the Jujutsu Kaisen exhibition is coming in the summer of 2024, the trailer for Chainsaw Man film is here, the “BLEACH: Arrancar the Beginning” musical will premiere in 2024, and a new One Piece project to recreate the East Blue arc was unveiled.

Jump Festa 2024 took place at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Chiba City, Japan, spanning two days. The event featured a few popular series across three stages: Jump Super Stage RED, Jump Super Stage BLUE, and Jump Studio Stage. 

Unlike previous years, all events were live-streamed, with Stage RED offering exclusive live English translations. The first day, Saturday, December 16, 2023, ran from the time of 9:30 AM to 5:50 PM JST, while the second day, Sunday, December 17, 2023, followed the same schedule.

Blue Box: One of the event’s highlights was the first trailer for the exciting upcoming anime adaptation of “Blue Box.” 

The studio responsible for this project is Telecom Animation Film. Additionally, the cast welcomed a new addition, Akari Kito. Reina Ueda, Shoya Chiba, and Kito graced the panel with their presence.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The Jujutsu Kaisen panel delighted fans with a live reading of an upcoming manga scene, offering a glimpse into what’s to come. The discussion primarily centered around the ongoing Shibuya Incident arc of the anime. 

Exciting news also revealed that Shibuya would host a Jujutsu Kaisen exhibition in the summer of 2024. Furthermore, fans got a glimpse of the new volume cover of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, accompanied by a message from the author, Akutami Gege, hinting at the series’ climax.

Haikyu!!: Fans of the adrenaline-packed volleyball anime “Haikyu!!” were treated to insights about the “Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump” movie, set to hit Japanese screens on February 16, 2024. A new trailer added to the excitement, promising intense action and heartfelt moments.

Dandadan: Shion Wakayama and Natsuki Hanae are set to lead the cast of “Dandadan.” This anime by Science SARU is scheduled to premiere in October 2024, promising an exciting addition to the lineup.

MASHLE: Magic and Muscles: “MASHLE: Magic and Muscles” fans were treated to a new trailer for the anime’s second season, “The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc.” 

The anime is set to return on January 6, bringing more magical and comedic adventures. Additionally, the franchise will see another stage play, further immersing fans into its unique world.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: While the Demon Slayer panel didn’t bring major announcements, it was a part of the event’s Blue Stage lineup. 

Those fortunate enough to attend the screening of the “To the Hashira Training Arc” tour were rewarded with a special booklet. 

This booklet contained invaluable information about the Hashiras, including staff drawings, cast comments, and more. Additionally, a captivating promotional video for the anniversary event was unveiled.

2.5 Dimensional Seduction: It appeared at Jump Festa ’24, announcing a smartphone game titled “Angel’s Stage.” 

While the release date remains unknown, fans can look forward to an immersive gaming experience in the world of this anime adaptation. 

Voice actress Aya Yamane also joined the cast as 753♡, bringing her talent to the series. Junya Enoki, Kaori Maeda, and Akari Kito were present, contributing to the project’s excitement.

Chainsaw Man: Fans can look forward to an exciting movie project that delves into the Reze and Bomb Girl arc. 

With a teaser visual and trailer now revealed, author Fujimoto shared his inspiration drawn from “Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade” as he crafted the complex relationship between Denji and Reze. This manga adaptation promises a cinematic experience reminiscent of the movie’s composition.

Undead Unluck: The ongoing anime adaptation of “Undead Unluck” unveiled a new trailer for the second cour, heightening the anticipation for the unfolding story.

The Elusive Samurai: This upcoming anime adaptation captured fans’ attention with a striking key visual and an engaging promotional video. This historical series is set to debut in 2024, promising an intriguing journey through feudal Japan.

The Prince of Tennis: Tennis enthusiasts can rejoice as “The Prince of Tennis” franchise announced a joint Blu-ray release for the movies “The Prince of Tennis: Futari no Samurai” and “The Prince of Tennis: Atobe Kara no Okurimono.” 

The release date of the release is set for February 28, 2024, offering fans a chance to relive these tennis adventures. Moreover, “The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup Semifinal” is scheduled to begin airing in October, ensuring that the world of tennis remains as exciting as ever.

Next year is the 10th anniversary of the serialization for My Hero Academia— it’s been 10 years?!!

My Hero Academia: “My Hero Academia” fans received a sneak peek at the upcoming 7th season of the anime. A slight mishap led to the premature release of a trailer, which was quickly set to private but later shared during Jump Festa ’24. 

Furthermore, the franchise announced that a new movie is set to premiere in the summer of 2024, promising another exciting chapter in the hero world.

Gintama: The Gintama panel embraced the holiday spirit with a Christmas-themed stage. Fans learned that the spin-off anime, “3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei (Class 3-Z’s Teacher Ginpachi),” is scheduled for release in 2025, adding to the series’ extensive and beloved catalog.

Kaiju No. 8: This offered additional cast information with Ai Fairouz and Kengo Kawanishi joining the team. A new trailer showcased the Kaiju-fighting action, and fans can look forward to streaming the anime on Twitter/ X and Crunchyroll.

Author Naoya Matsumoto expressed his excitement for the anime adaptation, highlighting the significance of voice acting in bringing the story to life. Additionally, a “Kaiju No. 8” manga spin-off titled “Side E” will be released on January 5, expanding the series’ world.

BLEACH: The musical “BLEACH: Arrancar the Beginning” was unveiled in a momentous announcement. Set to premiere in 2024, this musical marks the franchise’s return to the stage after a hiatus since 2015. 

Also, a new trailer for the third part of the “BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War” arc was showcased, promising epic battles and captivating storytelling.

Rurouni Kenshin: Fans of “Rurouni Kenshin” had cause for celebration as a new anime adaptation, focusing on the Kyoto arc, was confirmed to continue in the upcoming year. An announcement trailer set the stage for the intense battles and emotional journeys that await fans of this iconic series.

World Trigger: The “World Trigger” stage was graced by the presence of Yuki Kaji, Junichi Suwabe, Yuko Sanpei, and Tomo Muranaka.

SPY x FAMILY: Tatsuya Endo, Saori Hayami, and Kenichiro Matsuda graced the “SPY x FAMILY” stage at Jump Festa ’24. 

Although the event did not reveal significant details about the anime and movie, fans received reminders about the upcoming Nintendo Switch game, the WAKU WAKU theme park, and an eagerly anticipated special event scheduled for January. 

Also, a unique clip showcased Atsumi Tanezaki’s visit to Tatsuya Endo and her creative process in drawing Anya.

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku: “Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku” unveiled a teaser visual for its second season, building anticipation for the next installment of supernatural adventures. Fans can look forward to Ryota Suzuki joining the cast, contributing to the series’ intrigue.

ONE PIECE: The anime’s esteemed cast graced the event, including Mayumi Tanaka (Luffy), Kazuya Nakai (Zoro), and many others. Surprise guests Jacob Romero Gibson and Iñaki Godoy added to the excitement. 

Theme songs for the upcoming Egghead arc were unveiled, featuring “Aaah!” by Hiroshi Kitadani as the opening and “Dear Sunrise” by Maki Otsuki as the ending. 

Additionally, a new project titled “THE ONE PIECE“ in collaboration with WIT Studio, Netflix, Toei Animation, Fuji Television, and Shueisha aims to recreate the East Blue arc of “ONE PIECE” with a fresh animation team, offering fans a captivating new perspective on the beloved series.
