For decades, people have speculated that he is a part of the LGBTQ+ community due to his androgynous clothing style and sometimes putting on makeup.
Also, Carrot Top never clarifying his sexuality has added fuel to the fire. So, are the rumors true?

Who Is Carrot Top?
Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, has long been a part of the comedy scene. His official Instagram handle is @carrottoplive, where he enjoys 144k followers.
Born on February 25, 1965, in Rockledge, Florida, he was a part of the concert and marching band at the Cocoa High School in 1983.
A local swimming coach gave him the nickname “Carrot Top” (referring to his bright red/orange hair) from there, which he uses as his stage name.
After finishing high school, he headed to Boca Raton’s Florida Atlantic University. As a freshman, he participated in his first stand-up comedy routine there.
However, his first big career break came as a result of tragedy. This is because he was the replacement for Sam Kinison after he passed away in a 1992 car accident. But, once he got going, he didn’t have to look back anymore.
Carrot Top has appeared in projects like “Christmas Spectacular,” “Mindfreak,” “Space Ghost,” “Scrubs,” etc. It’s estimated that he has an eye-watering net worth of $80 million.
So people clearly love him and his comedy. However, his unique costumes, quirky dressing style, flamboyant personality, and over-the-top mannerisms have made many wonder if he is gay.
Is Carrot Top Gay?
Many of Carrot Top’s fans and casual admirers have wondered if the comedian identifies with the LGBTQ+ community and is gay. This is because he doesn’t conform to the societal standards set for straight men.
However, Scott Thompson or Carrot Top isn’t gay.
Also, others have wondered if the person doing the comedy is a male or female. This is because some think that as a result of surgeries, Carrot Top looks androgynous.
So, it should be noted that Carrot Top has always referred to himself as a straight guy/ a male. He has always claimed that he hasn’t undergone any plastic surgeries.
In an interview with Las Vegas magazine, he revealed that the rumors about his sexuality and identity disturb him. Thompson said:
“People say, ‘Carrot Top is gay’ or ‘Carrot Top got a facelift.’ Would I look better with a facelift? Or ‘Carrot Top does drugs.’ It’s so absurd, and people say to me, ‘That hurts your feelings, right?’ Some of it does. But I’m a big fan of self-deprecating humor; that’s my whole thing.”
These speculations may stem from many of his fans being unaware of his dating life. He has been dating a woman, Amanda Hogan, since 2013. Born in 1983, she and Carrot Top have an 18-year age difference.
However, by looking at their Instagram posts, they seem happy. She met Thompson in Las Vegas and runs a catering and event-planning company called “Any Thyme Catering” there.
Apart from this, she has a handmade tableware and pottery shop, whose items she sells via Etsy. She showcases her creations on her Instagram, @anythymecatering, to her 2079 followers.
