Hunter X Hunter is one of the most popular manga of all time. Created by Mangaka Yoshihiro Togashi in 1998, the manga still continues to this day, albeit very intermittently.
Madhouse Inc. undertook the task of animating the manga from its inception in 2011 and created a show over the course of 3 years that featured 148 episodes.
However, the show was forced to pause production as all the arcs that were completed by that point had been rendered into the show. A few more chapters of Hunter x Hunter have been released since then, but nothing has been teased on the animation front.
It is unlikely that word will be out any time soon on whether a new season for Hunter x Hunter is returning or not. No production company, including Madhouse, has yet announced their part in undertaking the project. However, the manga is still ongoing, and upon its conclusion, a new and final season for HxH might get announced.

Hunter x Hunter is about a boy named Gon Freecss, who initially wanted to find out the origins of his father, Ging Freecss. After finding out that his father left his family to become a Hunter, Gon signs up for the Hunter Examination, where he meets the rest of his peers, namely Leorio, Killua, and Kurapika.
The storyline features Hunters, who are essentially explorers in specialized fields. Hunters and their abilities differ in terms of their Nen. A chi-like concept, Nen allows its users to conjure, transmute, and enhance objects, while a few can be specialists who go on to master all six categories.
What Happened at the End of Hunter x Hunter Season 6?
At the end of HxH Season 6, Gon Freecss finally meets his father, Ging. In the episode titled โPast x And x Future,โ Gon climbs the World Tree to find Ging, and the two finally recognize the fact that Gon had been left behind by him.
After Ging explains his trajectory since then and how far heโs made it, he discloses that there is still a lot left to explore beyond the world as it is known. Gon, on the other hand, tells him about his friends and their own respective pursuits. The episode also features a heartfelt farewell to all the key characters in the series.
Is Hunter x Hunter Renewed For Season 7?
HxH has not yet been confirmed by Madhouse Inc. That is due to the limited content to adapt from the manga itself. Yoshihiro Togashi has consistently suffered from health problems, most prominently issues in his lower back.
Moreover, there is no official trailer or key visual for HxH Season 7 as well. Fans will have to wait until there is an official announcement from Madhouse or Togashi himself.

The HxH manga is not yet finished. Due to the health problems that Togashi suffers from, it takes anywhere from a week to several months until a chapter gets released. The latest chapter for HxH was released on December 25, 2022, more than 6 months ago.
Togashi himself took to Twitter on March 9, 2023, where he reassured fans that he had concluded work on the latest chapter of the manga. He also said that day by day, heโs been spending more and more time working at his desk.

Out of the total 37 volumes, the HxH anime has covered a total of 32 volumes up until the beginning of the Dark Continent Expedition arc.
