DLC has finally dropped for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, pushing fans to search for how to evolve Applin into Dipplin. While the process isn’t any more intricate than its previous evolutions, it is a bit tricky, especially for new players.
Just to be clear, Applin is a grass-type Pokémon, a tiny dragon hiding inside an apple. It was introduced in the Generation VIII of the Pokémon franchise.
So, below is a guide on evolving your Applin into Dipplin, in case you can’t find an easy way.
What Is Dipplin?
Although you know your Pokémon will evolve from Applin into Dipplin, not many know what the evolution offers. So, Dipplin is a Grass/Dragon-type Pokémon that falls into the category of Candy Apple Pokemon.
Its abilities include Supersweet Syrup and Gluttony. These abilities help the Pokémon to coat their bodies with syrup, disrupt the elusive powers of enemies, and eat Apples to regenerate HP.
Furthermore, with the new evolution, a new move called “Syrup Bomb” has been added, which launches an explosive bomb of syrup toward enemies to lower their Speed stat.
Where to Find Applin in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC?
While many of you may already possess this tiny adorable Pokémon, some people are still searching for it, and it often gets tiresome to explore all the locations to find a tiny apple that can spawn anywhere.
Applin can be found by dashing into trees using your mounts, Koraidon or Miraidon, but there is another more efficient way. You can make a Great Avocado Sandwich by combining one of each Avocado, Smoked Fillet, Tomato, and Salt, increasing the rate of Dragon-type Pokémon spawns.
Here are the few areas where you can find Applin:
- East Province (Area One) – near Artazon
- East Province (Area Two)
- South Province (Area Two) – near Cortondo
- West Province (Area Three)
- South Province (Area Four) – near the trees of the northern river
How to Evolve Applin into Dipplin?
The evolution of Applin is similar to its other options, Flapple and Appletun. All you need to find is an evolution item, and in Dipplin’s case, it is a Syrup Apple, a new item in the game.
Once you’re in the game, mark the location of Mossfell Confluence on your map and travel there. After you reach the location, you can easily find a store of Syrup Apples in the southeast corner of Kitami.
Each fruit costs 500 Poke dollars (in-game money), and you can buy as many as you want. Once you’re through with your purchase, you will find it in your inventory, ready to be used whenever you want to evolve your Applin.
Just like how you evolve all other Pokémon using evolution stones, go into your inventory and find the Other Items section to choose the Syrup Apple, and you’re good to go.
Although this method is only for DLC users, even if you don’t have DLC, you can still evolve Applin into Dipplin. Apparently, the DLC version of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will offer two new pieces of the story as well as two new areas: The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk.
So, in case you don’t have access to this version, what you can do is ask a friend who already has a Dipplin to trade you, and if that isn’t a plausible option, you can also request them to trade you any other Pokémon holding a Syrup Apple.
