Just a day ago, when literally everyone on the Internet was losing their minds on DC’s treatment of its star Henry Cavill who began dawning Superman’s cape in 2013, Cavill bounced back, signaling WB execs he isn’t done yet.
The Witcher star has now partnered with Amazon Studios to work as an executive producer for Warhammer Cinematic Universe, a live-action adaptation of the Sci-fi wargame Warhammer 40,000 created by Games Workshop.
The announcement first came to light on the official Warhammer Community Website, “The agreement encompasses rights to the universe across series, film, and more,” Amazon Studios said in an official statement.
“This is the first deal of its kind for Amazon Studios for IP of this scale, and it allows the company to utilize the title across its entertainment businesses,” it continues. “Henry Cavill (Man of Steel, Mission: Impossible – Fallout) is set to star in and executive produce the Warhammer 40,000 franchise across all Amazon Studios productions.”
As per this statement, it can only be concluded that Amazon has brought the rights to Warhammer 40,000 with no TV Show/Movie titles announced yet. Also, the speculation about Henry playing a character in the anticipated Warhammer Cinematic Universe or just acting as the producer hasn’t been announced by either party.
