Here’s a question– if you want to call out someone to fight,
Would you rather: use Twitter to challenge them with trash talk, or you use Instagram to intimidate them with your picture?
Well, it doesn’t matter anymore. The CEOs of both platforms just challenged each other to a cage match. Yes, billionaires have found a new hobby. Should we be worried about the professional boxers or just enjoy two nerds whoop each other’s egos?
The second option seems better entertainment.
Before getting on with why, where, and how these billionaires will settle the score, here’s a brief rundown of how these callout matches started:
Logan Paul vs. KSI: Highly Publicized Non-professional Amateur Match
Youtubers beef was a trending content in the past few years. People love watching two content creators hash it out on the platform. One such iconic rivalry was American Youtuber Logan Paul and British Youtuber KSI.
KSI previously fought another British Youtuber, Joe Weller, that racked up millions of views. KSI won the match and was awarded Youtube Boxing Championship Belt. His followers were excited to see him have another match with other YouTubers. Comments flooded in recommending the Paul brothers to be his next opponent.
At first, KSI challenged the younger Paul, Jake, to a fight. But eventually, Logan Paul stood up for the match. The match was highly publicized, called “The biggest internet event in history” and “The biggest amateur boxing match in history.”
Indeed, the match became the most iconic moment in internet history, as KSI won again. But this triggered a new wave of amateur celebrity boxers, considering the mass popularity.
Soon, many other celebrities, including Youtubers, Tiktokers, and other MMA legends, followed the trend, calling each other out for UFC matches. The sacred professional ring became a giant pool of testosterone, each trying to prove their alpha-ness.
And now, here we are, with the match that no one imagined.
Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg Cage Fight Explained
The new Twitter owner, Elon Musk, expressed his first bout of fighting with his thumb muscles when he responded to a thread mocking Zuckerberg’s medals in jiu-jitsu–
“I’m up for a cage match if he is, lol.”
Zuckerberg is not the one to sit down quietly, nor is he the one to tweet down lightly. He responded in his own style, posting the screenshot of Musk’s tweet on Instagram with a caption–
“Send Me Location.”
Musk seems to be enjoying this high adrenaline. Alex Heath, the editor of the Tech Website, Verge, tweeted about this alleged fight. Musk quickly replied to the Tweet, saying–
“Vegas Octagon” (most Ultimate Fighting Championship matches are fought in the Las Vegas Arena).
Musk even boasted about his ultimate tap-out move– “I have this great move that I call ‘The Walrus,’ where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing.”
Meanwhile, the Meta chief recently earned gold and silver medal in the Brazilian Martial art at the tournament in May. Although this seems like cordial banter, their match would still be one of the most unpredictably fascinating experiences.
Dana White, the president of UFC, chimed in on this epic match if it ever happened–
Where Is the Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg Fued Stemming From?
It all started because of artificial intelligence back in 2017.
Elon Musk has been pretty vocal about the dangers of AI, calling it a threat to the human race.
However, Zuckerberg’s Meta relies highly on AI. During one of his Facebook Live, he called the AI critics “Naysayers” and claimed their “doomsday scenarios” as being “pretty irresponsible.”
This did not sit well with Musk, who tweeted– “I’ve talked to Mark about this. His understanding of the subject is pretty limited.”
There was another brewing feud when Mark announced that they are working on a Twitter counterpart called Threads, which is partially based on Instagram. The Tesla billionaire was quite upset with this and hence manifesting a fight!
And to top it off, both are also busy knocking each other out on the top billionaires’ list (rich boys problem, SMH!)
Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see them in a cage… I meant a cage match.
