Season 1 of Dragon Raja, produced by Studio GARDEN, comprises 17 episodes and is available on platforms like YouTube TV, Hulu Live TV, AT&T TV, and Tencent. The anime centers on Lu Mingfei’s journey at Cassell College, uncovering secrets about dragons. Starring Xiaoning Zhou and Jinwen Chen, a second season was confirmed by Tencent Video Animation on November 25, 2022, but its release date is unknown. However, a motion poster was revealed on August 8, 2023.

You can watch the Dragon Raja anime live online through various streaming platforms such as  Hulu Live TV, AT&T TV, DirecTV Stream, FuboTV, Sling TV, YouTube TV, Philo, and Xfinity Instant TV. These all offer a 7-day free trial. 

Alternatively, you can also access Tencent Video Client in select regions and subscribe for a minimal fee. Another option is the Malaysian video-on-demand service iFlix, which offers free and subscription-based access to watch the anime.

The Dragon Raja anime debuted on August 19, 2022, and ended its first season on November 25, 2022, comprising 17 episodes. 

In 2023, Aniplex struck a deal to release the first season globally, premiering in Japan as Ryuzoku: The Blazing Dawn (竜族: The Blazing Dawn) in April 2024.

Tencent Video Animation confirmed a second season on November 25, 2022, but its release date remains undisclosed.

Season one of the Dragon Raja anime features 17 episodes, adapting the storyline from the series’ first book. 

Premiering on August 19, 2022, and concluding on November 25, 2022, the anime is an adaptation of Jiang Nan’s Chinese novel series of the identical title. Season 2’s episode count, as well as the release date, remains undisclosed.

The Dragon Raja anime is crafted by Studio GARDEN in partnership with Tencent Penguin Pictures, overseeing its distribution. 

Studio GARDEN is recognized for its work on the later seasons of Fox Spirit Matchmaker and LIU YAO – The Revitalization of Fuyao Sect. 

As anticipation mounts for the second season, Studio GARDEN is expected to continue its involvement.

The Dragon Raja anime depicts Lu Mingfei’s journey after receiving a scholarship to Cassell College in Chicago. 

Upon arrival, he uncovers the school’s hidden truths, discovering the existence of dragons and becoming entangled in a conflict between those seeking to control them and those protecting them. 

As secrets unravel, Lu encounters diverse characters and navigates alliances and betrayals to safeguard his loved ones and unravel the mysteries surrounding the dragons. 

The anime blends action, adventure, and intrigue, appealing to fantasy and anime enthusiasts. The Chinese novel Dragon Raja commenced serialization in April 2010 with its first volume, “The Blazing Dawn.” 

Sequels followed until “Dark Moon Tide III” in 2013. The series concluded with “Odin’s Abyss” in 2015. However, a hiatus ensued in 2019, leading to its official discontinuation in 2022.

The Dragon Raja anime was first teased with an animated concept preview on August 8, 2020. Subsequent previews and promotional content, including character designs and behind-the-scenes footage, built anticipation. 

The main trailer, released on June 29, 2022, revealed the official release date. On August 8, 2022, the “ultimate trailer” showcased scenes from episodes 1 to 9. 

As for season 2 of Dragon Raja, no trailer has been released yet. During Tencent’s animation showcase on August 8, 2023, a motion poster depicting Lu Mingfei and Xia Mi aboard a subway train was unveiled.

The Chinese cast of the Dragon Raja anime features:

  • Xiaoning Zhou as Mingze Lu
  • Jinwen Chen as Mingfei Lu.
  • Wenxiao He as Motong Chen
  • Chenzhang Taikang as Zihang Chu
  • Weiyi Yun as Caesare Gattuso. 

Wangzhi Zhangsi, Xi Zheng, and Ruoban Liu also contribute their talents to the series. 

Furthermore, Chenyang Fu, Shuxin Wan, Yumeng Zhang, and Huilin Zhang portray key characters alongside Lu Li, Sicen Liu, Xianer, and Zhao Yi, rounding out the diverse ensemble.
