The rap battle between Geechi Gotti and Eazy The Block Captain, got fierce, burning everyone in the way. Gotti’s tongue became the weapon of mass destruction on Chrome 23 Battle when he rapped about Remy Ma’s infidelity towards her husband of 17 years, Papoose. Gotti claimed that Remy cheated on her husband with Eazy.
Who Is Remy Ma?
Reminisce Kioni Mackie, better known as Remy Ma, took the hip-hop industry by storm as a rapper who broke the glass ceiling of female artists, standing neck to neck with male rappers as well. Her confidence, aggression, and belief stem from years of struggle and a tumultuous past.
Remy Ma was born and brought up in the Bronx, exposed to an ecosystem that could ruin a childhood. But instead of falling down the rabbit hole of drugs, crime, s*x work, or gangs, she channeled her energy into writing poetries. Remy could melt the toughest of hearts and, at the same time, stomp on the hard people with her witty raps.
Word spread in the Bronx’s underground scene, and Remy caught the eye of Big Pun, who was one of the most influential figures. He took Remy under his wing and integrated her into his crew. But after his unfortunate death, Fat Joe joined hands with Remy and mentored her under his HipHop group Terror Squad.
Fat Joe then featured her in the second album, True Story, where the single “Lean Back” dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks. And just like that, Ma was recognized for her potential, earning her first Grammy nomination.
Remy maintained her reputation in hip-hop through a series of hit albums. Then, she met Papoose through their mutual friend, DJ Kay Slay. Shamele Mackie, widely known as Papoose, swept Remy off her feet, and the two eventually got married in 2008. The couple welcomed their daughter Reminisce in 2018. Remy Ma has another daughter, Janafi, while she dons the hat of a stepmother to Papoose’s daughters Destiny, Shemele, and Dejanae.
Considering the lovely family and the healthy marriage, Remy and Papoose were roped in for Love And HipHop: New York, where they quickly became the most beloved couple.
However, all the hunky-dory story came to a screeching halt during the intense Chrome 23 rap battle between Geechi Gotti and Eazy The Block Captain.
What Did Geechi Gotti Say About Remy Ma?
Even before the fire, there was definitely smoke lurking a few months back, suggesting that Remy Ma and Papoose might be heading for a split. Remy’s Instagram page was barren of her pics with her husband. People could hardly find the couple together. There is a possibility that the industry insiders knew something was off about the couple.
However, Geechi Gotti going full Super Saiyan during his rap battle with Eazy added fuel to the fire, and the video is now spreading like wildfire.
In his rebuttal verse, Gotti spit bars with no holds barred. Instead of addressing his opponent, he turned towards Remy Ma, who was hosting the rap battle. He raps, looking straight at her–
“If you’re gonna cheat, at least cheat with a n***a who can fight. You know this ain’t right. Remy, you’re supporting a victim. We’ve had six [battle rap] events, and Papoose was at all of them, but he ain’t at this one.”
He then low-key sided with Papoose–
“I don’t give a f**k if you’re f**king this n**ga, just tell him to stop screwing the business… y’all the poster child symbol for Black love… every interview he shows his admiration and tell the world how he thinks his woman the greatest… n**ga he held you down in prison for six years, I know it was not nice, he cried big tears, he stood by you by your biggest accomplishments front row giving you big cheers. Man, you got a beautiful baby girl who is also amazing. He’ll be damned if he lose you to this bozo in braces… Listen, he took you out to the best foods; when you ain’t feeling good, he put you back in the best moods.”
Then, in the last and the lowest blow, he attacks Remy, saying–
“You foul for real, and I hope all that awkwardness in your home – your child doesn’t feel. How can you protect a n**a who can’t protect you is wild for real.”
People were shellshocked by this revelation, and the netizens were having a field day with this tea.
