One of the most anticipated games of 2019, Death Stranding, just hit a staggering 10 million players on its third anniversary.
Kojima Productions tweeted on their third anniversary – “As of November 8th, 2022, “DEATH STRANDING” has connected with over 10 million Porters worldwide across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.”
The following milestone includes all game variants and all platforms on which they were made available, including subscription services like PlayStation Plus and PC Game Pass. The game initially launched as a Sony exclusive for their Playstation consoles, but it was later released for PCs. And even the director cut for the game was released last year; that included a few extra cutscenes and missions.
Even before its release, Death Stranding became one of the most awaited games of the decade, primarily due to the man behind the project – the brains of Hideo Kojima. Death Stranding was the first game under the independent production of Kojima studio after its split with Konami.
Kojima is often hailed as one the influential gamin director and designers of this age; with over decades of experience designing, writing, and directing games, Kojima stays true to the statement. He was the mastermind behind the game The Metal Gear, which took on the gaming industry by storm due to its impeccable writing, design, storyline, and gameplay.
