What Is The Storyline Of Darwin’s Game?
According to Netflix’s official synopsis: “High schooler Kaname activates a mysterious mobile app and unwittingly joins a game pitting players with supernatural abilities against each other.”
The plot revolves around a high school student Kaname Sudou. He receives an invitation from a classmate to play a mobile game named Darwin’s Game. However, a green snake suddenly manifests from his phone screen and bites his neck as Kaname opens the game. As a result, he becomes unconscious.
But the unpleasant surprise comes when our hero plays the game for the first time. His in-game opponent appears right before Kaname to hunt him down with a knife. It does not take long for our hero to understand that Darwin’s Game is no ordinary game.
He keeps fighting to survive, as there is no way to quit the game. But every player in the game has their “Sigil” that allows him to use a special power against their opponent.
What Happened At The End Of Darwin’s Game 1?
In the first season of Darwin’s Game, the protagonist, Kaname, preferred to avoid killing people as much as possible. With the anime’s plot progression, our naive hero gets to bear the pain of his friends’ deaths. They were killed by other players in the game. These unjustified deaths transformed Kaname’s approach to the game.
In the end, Kaname and the rest of the Sunset Ravens clan set some rules in their territory by using brute force. If anyone tries to break the rule, they will get the punishment of death. These acts set a warning message to other surviving players. The first season solely focussed on Kaname’s character development.
Is Darwin’s Game Season 2 Renewed?
Despite receiving large audiences, the sequel of Darwin’s Game has not been officially announced yet. Darwin’s Game has not been renewed for another season by Studio Nexus. The future possibility of having season 2 is still in major doubt.
