What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word Chibi?
Is it a small and cute anime character with an oversized head?

However, in anime, Chibi means characters with a small body and a huge head. So, Overall, Chibi represents cuteness to us otakus.
Super Deformed or SD also refers to Chibi in anime.

The only thing that is quite different is that they are all chibis with skills of sorcery and swordsmanship.

Poyopoyo is a round cat. He was a stray until a drunk Moe Satou picked him up from the street and decided to keep him as a pet. She named the cat Poyo.

This chibi anime is a treat for those who worship Isekai anime and the ones who have gobbled up every isekai anime there is.
Overlord, Re: Zero, The Saga of Tanya the Evil, and Konosuba, the cast of these four renowned isekai anime are transported to another world.
In this new world, they are all classmates of Isekai High, and as you have guessed already, it’s absolute chaos.
The irony is from getting transported to another world, they are getting transported to another world. Once again.
Why You Need To Watch:
There are several reasons, but the most important one is the interactions between this eccentric bunch of students from different worlds.
Undoubtedly, it’s an isekai fest, a good one. So good that the Isekai Quartet has two seasons and a movie that will be released in June 2022.
#8 Lucky☆Star
Lucky Star is a story about the daily lives of four high school girls. Konata Izumi, the otaku; the Hiiragi twins, Kagami and Tsukasa; and the polite Miyuki Takara.
Their lives aren’t as ordinary as their character introductions. Their conversations can start from anything. Be it food, academics, Japanese traditions, otaku culture, or anything that meets their eye, contemplating is their way of life.
Why You Need To Watch:
Kyoto Animation is the studio behind Lucky Star. They have a great record when it comes to nailing these slice-of-life narratives.

#7 Mo Dao Zu Shi Q
Mo Dao Zu Shi Q (The Founder of Diabolism Q) is the spin-off of the critically acclaimed Mo Dao Zu Shi donghua. (Donghua means Chinese animation)
This spin-off is about the mischievousness of Wei Wuxian throughout his adolescence, adulthood, and rebirth.
Be it making Lan Wangji break one of the three thousand strict rules of the Gusu Lan Clan or deceiving him, Wei Wuxian has done it all.
Though he creates nothing but trouble for Lan Wangji, they share a strong bond.
Why You Need To Watch:
This spin-off is animated for those who were overwhelmed by the sadness of the main storyline of the donghua.
Mo Dao Zu Shi Q is adorable, warm, and most importantly, this will help you heal those wounds.
It also shows a cute and shy side of Stone Cold Steve Austin. I mean Lan Wangji.
#6 Chibi Maruko-chan
Momoko Sakura is known as “Chibi Maruko-chan” for her young age and small stature.
Maruko-chan likes reading manga and loves the well-renowned idol, Momoe Yamaguchi.
Leading a simple life with her parents, grandparents, and elder sister, Maruko-chan is quite the popular one in school.
She always plays around with her friends, especially with her close-friend Tama-chan, and studies with them too.
The other friends being Migawa-san, Maruko-kun from the student committee, the trio of Class-B, Hanawa-kun, Hamaji-Bu Taro and Sekiguchi-kun.
Good luck remembering these names with the longest chibi anime on this list. But don’t misinterpret it as a weak entry. It is one of those chibi anime deserving the throne in this genre.
Why You Need To Watch:
Chibi Maruko-chan is just a normal girl from a simple family.
But, the daily life of this simple-looking family isn’t that easy. They are hilarious and often remind you of funny interactions you might have experienced yourself.

Slice of Life x Chibi, nothing better than this.
#5 Attack on Titan: Junior High
In this peaceful world of Attack on Titan, humans, and titans attend the same junior high school with two different buildings.
Unfortunately, in this world too, titan took away something very precious to Eren Yeager, his lunch. And it wasn’t an ordinary lunch. It was a Cheese Hamburg Steak.
Following that day, he vowed to eliminate Titans, all of them, once and for all.
The popular trio, Armin Arlert, Mikasa Ackerman, and Eren Yeager, are part of the Wall Cleanup Club. Yeah, there is a 50 meters tall wall here too.
The one thing that is quite different in Attack on Titan: Junior High is how characters are bold about their love interests from the very beginning. Be it Mikasa Ackerman showing her feelings for Eren or Ymir safeguarding her kawaii Christa Lenz.
And as usual, Sasha being Sasha, shares an equal interest with the titans in this parody. Food.
Why You Need To Watch:
You don’t need reasons to watch this absolute banger of a parody of Attack on Titan.
Besides being animated by Production I.G, Attack on Titan Junior High is everything you want from Shingeki no Kyojin’s chibi anime.
Be it the animation quality, voice acting, or the perfectly placed cast in the parody, Shingeki! Kyojin Chuugakkou will leave you wanting more.
It also has Eren Yeager shouting, “Yameroooooo…”

#3 One Piece: Straw Hat Theater
One day Eiichiro Oda’s Editor gave him three blank papers and asked him to draw anything he wanted.
Oda did just that, and so did the animation crew at Toei. They did justice to the side comics with a great adaptation.
One Piece Straw Hat Theater consists of 5 shorts with fun scenarios.
The first one titled “Chopper Man” is about Chopper Man stopping Dr. Usodabada from taking over the world.
The second one titled “Report Time” reports about the not-so-normal food practices the Straw Hats had before our beloved cook Sanji joined the crew.
The third one titled “Obahan Time” shows how the Straw Hat Pirates would look like if they were “Obahan” (Obahan means middle-aged women who are ill-mannered and impolite).
The fourth one titled “Ruthless Time” is a brilliant display of each Straw Hat being a Mafia Boss fighting to become the one above all.
The fifth one titled “Monster Time” is just a fun episode with all Straw Hats as different kinds of monsters.
These five mini-episodes aired along with episodes 279 to 283.

There is always that one character you wanted a spin-off for, but it never happened.
But, if you are a fan of Rock Lee, you are in for a treat.
Nothing can bring down his morale. Maybe he isn’t blessed with ninjutsu, but his willpower is eightfold more than usual. (the eightfold is the creative freedom I took, don’t go google searching on me)
And he has the best trainer in the Shinobi World. The guy with might in his name, Might Guy.
That’s it, Lee! Let the power of youth explode!! – Might Guy.
