Alice in Borderland is simply a game-based anime, that is, if games can kill people or turn them deranged in the blink of an eye. This suspense series will ensure your adrenaline rush never fades, as every minute contains one terrifying development after another.
The anime begins with the most foreboding scene, where the protagonist, Arisu, hangs out with his friends and wishes to escape somewhere to experience freedom. His wish is quickly granted as he and his two friends are transported into Borderland, a land that looks similar to their original city but as if it has been abandoned for decades.
After loitering around and experiencing freedom for the first time, they unwittingly get stuck in a dangerous game. The group experiences absolute terror for the first time as the world is suddenly not so dreamy anymore.
Alice in Borderland Plot
Alice in Borderland begins with Arisu and his two friends, Chota and Karube, hanging out while watching fireworks. Arisu wishes for an escape from his imprisoning lifestyle, and all three of them get transported to a bizarre world where they get roped into a game.
They meet an unknown woman, Shibuki, in the game and realize that the game is designed to kill them unless they can solve specific problems assigned to them. They are attacked by flaming arrows if they answer wrong, and all the questions together hint at their saving grace, but only if they are clever enough to figure it out.
In the first game, all four are lucky to survive, but they only win a three-day allowance to stay in Borderland. If they don’t play another game and run out of time, they will be killed.
Alice in Borderland Trailer
Not many trailers or visuals have been released for the anime. Its first promo shows plenty of suspense as the characters fight against an invisible force that controls them via games. Their survival is at stake in this mad world.

Will Alice in Borderland Receive Season 2?
Alice in Borderland never received a proper first season and only three OVAs. Thus, its chances of getting a second season are pretty abysmal. However, there is a slight possibility that it will receive more OVA episodes.
Currently, more focus is being put on the live-action adaptation of the franchise. The live-action has the same plot of surviving insane games but with different characters. It consists of two seasons with a total of 16 episodes. The series received high praise as its survival genre attracted lots of attention.
If you are a fan of the survival genre and live to see gore and horrifying deaths, then Alice in Borderland will be the perfect fit for you. You can easily watch the three OVAs and then continue with either the manga or live-action series.
