Prominent Twitch streamer Zack “Asmongold” has entered the fray regarding the trending NSFW Hazbin Hotel video created by YouTuber Adym “Verbalase.”

As rumors of Verbalase’s alleged bankruptcy swirled online due to the video’s production costs, Asmongold shared his perspective on this ongoing controversy.

So, what did he say? And did he really publicly admonish Verbalase?

A viral AMV featuring Hazbin Hotel’s Charlie Morningstar, reportedly commissioned by streamer Verbalase, has stirred controversy for its explicit content. Rumors surrounding a colossal $50,000 production cost and Verbalase’s alleged bankruptcy have surfaced. Twitch streamer Asmongold expressed astonishment at the substantial expenditure, calling Verbalase’s decision “nuts” and suggesting a potential scam.

Verbalase, the talented beatbox artist known for his Cartoon Beatbox Battles series, has recently found himself at the center of controversy.

It was due to a viral animated music video (AMV) featuring Charlie Morningstar, the protagonist of the popular adult cartoon series Hazbin Hotel. The video, allegedly commissioned by Verbalase, has stirred up quite a storm online.

Verbalase’s claim to fame lies in his unique ability to combine beatboxing, singing, rapping, and sound effects to create captivating remixes of popular songs and beloved cartoon-themed tunes.

His creativity and talent have earned him a substantial following online.

Hazbin Hotel, an upcoming adult cartoon series set to debut on Amazon Prime Video, follows the story of Charlie Morningstar, the princess of hell, as she attempts to rehabilitate demons in the underworld.

The show delves into mature themes and garnered immense attention with its 30-minute pilot, released on YouTube in October 2019 and amassing over 96 million views to date.

As anticipation for the full series release on January 19, 2024, continues to build, a controversial AMV featuring Charlie Morningstar, allegedly commissioned by Verbalase, has gone viral.

The video, set to the song “Hide Away,” depicts adult content without consent, sparking outrage and backlash online.

Speculations about the cost of producing this controversial video have also emerged, with claims that Verbalase spent a staggering $50,000 on its creation.

Social media user @thestartofluck took to a popular networking site on January 11 to first reveal this expenditure.

Furthermore, there are allegations that Verbalase may have commissioned a 16-year-old artist to work on the NSFW AMV, although concrete evidence to support this claim is lacking. These allegations have only added to the controversy surrounding the video.

This is technically the most expensive fanfic in existence.

The repercussions of this controversy are reportedly significant.

Some netizens are suggesting that Verbalase, whose real name is Adym Steven Evans, may have faced financial difficulties or even bankruptcy as a result of the substantial expenses incurred in creating the video.

Now, another famous streamer, Asmongold, has responded to this scandal.

The online gaming and streaming community recently found itself in a whirlwind of shock and disbelief when popular Twitch streamer Asmongold stumbled upon a unique Reddit post.

It discussed content creator Verbalase’s alleged bankruptcy due to the creation of a provocative Hazbin Hotel Animated Music Video (AMV).

Upon learning that Verbalase purportedly paid a staggering $50,000 for the AMV, Asmongold couldn’t conceal his amazement.

Expressing his incredulity, Asmongold labeled Adym, the real name of Verbalase, as an “idiot” and deemed the price tag and bankruptcy story surrounding the video as “nuts.”

He then proceeded to watch the controversial AMV, subsequently suggesting that Verbalase had fallen victim to a scam.

Asmongold remarked:

“How does this cost $50K? That’s nuts, man. This guy got scammed. Yeah, 50 thousand dollars for this?”

Asmongold’s reaction reflected his bewilderment at the hefty expenditure associated with the video rather than the content itself. He seemed relatively unfazed by the adult nature of the commissioned work.

However, some users on the Cringetopia RM subreddit suggested that the $50k price tag was right. But the division of the money was hidden.

Redditor PK-Starstorm1995 said:

“Here’s my bet… 30k just for this video. The last 20k was for a ‘private’ video that verbalase will never let see the public lol.”

Meanwhile, the Hazbin Hotel series, which gained fame with its pilot released over four years ago, is set to make a triumphant return.

A24, in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios, is producing a full-fledged show based on the series.

A24’s Hazbin Hotel will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on January 19, 2024.

What do you think about this controversy? Does the AMV actually cost $50k?
