The Star Wars series from Disney+ has perfected the art of surprise character reveals, and the twists are coming at us back to back. The first two episodes of Star Wars: Ahsoka have already taken us by surprise, and there are many more to come.
In the premise of the series, Ahsoka Tano investigates an emerging threat to the galaxy after the fall of the Empire. Star Wars fans, however, are no amateurs. They have been trained for years in the art of deduction and are some of the best people to sniff out these character reveals.
I mean, what can be more enticing to deduce than the person behind a character who is trying to hide their identity? So when Ahsoka revealed the masked visage of an Imperial Inquisitor, fans hounded it to find out the truth.
Who Is the Inquisitor in Ahsoka?
The official website of Star Wars has revealed that the name of the Inquisitor is Marrok. It was also unveiled that Marrok is no longer an Inquisitor and now world for Morgan Elsbeth.
The character’s official description reads: Once an Inquisitor hunting Jedi for the Empire, the mysterious Marrok now works as a mercenary hired by Morgan Elsbeth to carry out dark deeds. Fully encased in battered battle armor, the warrior still carries a red double-bladed saber with a circular hilt.”
In the latest stills for Ahsoka, Marrok is portrayed by Paul Barnell, who is a career stunt double who could be standing in for anybody. The name Marrok has also cropped up before in the series. It was the name of the bounty hunter Embo’s hunting hound in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
However, Marrok might also serve as a codename rather than an actual identity. We know very little about the mysterious foe beyond the name.
Marrok might be an all-new character that has never appeared in the series before, leaving their path to the future wide open as anything can occur surrounding the Inquisitor.
Of course, there are many theories surrounding Marrok. Some claim that they are Petro or Gallen Marek. Others are of the opinion that it could be Mara Jade, Barriss Offee, or Ezra Bridger. Let’s just say that conspiracy theories are as far as we can get before the next episode is out.
The first season of Ahsoka is now available on Disney+.
So don’t forget to watch Ahsoka and follow along the journey to find out the real identity behind Marrok.
