Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the most successful and famous movie franchises of all time, which, even though released during Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings trilogies, broke box office records.

While the script and comedy have been its highlights, Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow is irreplaceable in his contributions to the franchise, and he outperformed everyone in all five films.

Ever since the allegations by his ex-wife, Amber Heard, many fans have worried whether he would return to Pirates of the Caribbean 6. So, what is the truth?

As of writing, Johnny Depp has shown no interest in returning to Disney and reprising his role of Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6. Furthermore, his forced exit from Hollywood made his return all the more hopeless, but he reportedly told People that he would do it “as long as it is the right project,” so there is hope.

These past few years have not been kind for Johnny Depp as the actor was hit by the allegations about Amber Heard, eventually destroying his fame.

He initially lost the case in 2020 in the UK, which not only cost him a lot of money and a bad name but also resulted in his exit from Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.

In 2022, though, Depp proved himself non-guilty, but the damage was already done. He doesn’t seem to favor acting in Hollywood, as seen by his recent French movie, Jeanne du Barry.

Reportedly, his relationship with the franchise hasn’t been that great because he was initially prepared to act in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 but was fired due to allegations.

Feeling betrayed by Disney and the franchise, his decision to return to the sixth film was a big no from his side, but according to People Magazine, who reportedly received a tip from a source close to the actor, Depp is open to doing the right projects.

Nonetheless, that doesn’t explicitly imply his return for Pirates of the Caribbean because the feeling of betrayal is nothing to scoff at, especially when it involves a sensational actor such as Johnny Depp.

On the other end, the producers of Pirates of the Caribbean 6 are ready to welcome the actor with open arms because they know no one can replace Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow.

Ultimately, Johnny Depp’s final decision is what matters here. As of now, there is no way to confirm whether he is returning to reprise his role in the franchise, especially with the rumors of Margot Robbie replacing him as Jack Sparrow.

Rumours emerge, that Margot Robbie could replace Johnny Depp in Pirates of The Caribbean 6.00 Amidst the defamation trial , When asked, Johnny Depp stated he would not be a part of Pirates of the Caribbean even if he was offered all the money on this Earth.

From what we’ve gathered from sources, it is still possible that Johnny Depp may return to Disney to act in the next installment, but it takes more than the remuneration for that to happen.

Since he’s currently busy doing other projects across Europe, we can only wait until we receive official word from the actor.

So, are you waiting for Pirates of the Caribbean 6? Will you watch it if any actor plays it other than Johnny Depp?
