The seven colors of the rainbow are revealed one by one, with the color Purple being the final piece of the puzzle (only a true ARMY will know!).
BTS halted their group activities when the group’s eldest member, Kim Seokjin (known as Jin), announced his mandatory military enlistment last year, scheduled for December 13, 2022. While BTS only declared a temporary halt, some media reports suggested that the world’s most famous boy group is on the verge of “disbandment.”
The septet quickly addressed the misinformation during the BTS Festa and assured ARMYs that they would remain together until their contract expires, with a possibility of further renewal.
The group’s reliable leader, IQ of 148, and the wisdom of a 108-year-old turtle with the sass of a 90-year-old woman articulated the exact vision for BTS in the upcoming years–
“A lot of the screenshots of headlines and articles, which had been shared with me, used aggressive keywords taken out of context, like BTS’ disbanding,’ ‘halting group activities,’ and ‘announcing hiatus.’ I fully expected this to happen. I was bracing myself for it, too. But it still left a bitter feeling in my heart.”

Now that the facts are straight let us discuss what the BTS members did for the ARMYs.
- Since Jin was joining the military, he gifted ARMYs with his solo song “The Astronaut” in collaboration with Coldplay. He even performed live during one of Coldplay’s tours. It was the sweetest temporary parting gift!
- Our ray of sunshine, Hobi (Jhope/ Jung Hoseok) subverted every expectation. His solo album Jack in the Box was a surprising testament to his musical genius. But his songs transcend to another level when he performs live. And he was invited to one of the biggest music fest, Lollapalooza.
Jhope has since enlisted in the military as well.
- Then came our leader, who brought a new color to the rainbow with his album “Indigo.” Every song in the tracklist is a masterpiece of combining emotions with melody and words with sentiments. Let this gentleman explain RM’s lyrical genius and the profound meaning behind “Wildflower.”
- And RM’s emotions were followed by savage tongue technology. Suga/ Min Yoongi released his single “Haegum” and contributed to global warming. The song quickly became the hottest single, with his unmatched rap flow and hard-hitting verses. He was the first person to hold his solo concert.
- But the world waited for one member who released very few solo songs. Jimin’s soft vocals and strong persona shined through his solo studio album FACE. He showed a side that he never explored with the group before.
- Finally, our Maknae Jungkook released his single recently that has shooketh the ARMYs seven days a week.
The six members have successfully released their solo music. And now, the ARMYs are waiting for the final color.
Will BTS V Finally Do a Solo Debut This Year?
Kim Taehyung, who goes by “V,” is BTS’s lead vocalist, dancer, visual, and mood-maker. His deep-set voice and love for jazz make him ideal for a song that induces shivers and calls out our innermost emotions.
He is also a songwriter and released several solo songs over the years, including ‘Winter Bear,’ ‘Christmas Tree,’ ‘Scenery,’ ‘Singularity,’ and ‘4O’CLOCK’. Taehyung is a very sentimental man who is not afraid to show his vulnerability and is in tune with his emotions.
ARMYs were anticipating his solo release after the rest of the members. And now, that prayer circle has actually worked! Bighit, a sub-branch of HYBE labels that manages BTS, released an official statement regarding V’s solo debut.
“The [release] schedules of our agency’s artists, including V, will be revealed once they are confirmed.”
It is estimated that the album will probably release in Q3 of 2023 (between August-September).
Taehyung has been preparing for his album since last year, along with numerous luxury brand ambassador deals and appearing on a reality show with his friend Park Seo Joon.
In the recent update, Kim Taehyung was announced as the global ambassador for the French luxury brand Cartier. And it seems the Cartier website crashed within minutes of their watches being sold out.
Regardless, we are waiting for his honey vocals to soothe us. All we can say is, Borahae!
