Currently, Won Jeong is trending online, and his fans are shocked because he has been arrested for s*xual assault.

But what is the case he has been implicated in? When is his court case beginning?

South Korea’s TikTok sensation, Seo Won Jeong, was arrested on sexual assault charges on December 22, 2023. The allegations involve intoxicating a female acquaintance and assaulting her. Legal proceedings commenced on December 12, 2023, with the first court trial scheduled for January 17, 2024. Seo maintains the encounter was consensual.

South Korea’s TikTok sensation, Seo Won Jeong, known by his online aliases “WonJeongMan” and “@ox_zung,” soared to fame with an astonishing 55.6 million followers, making him Korea’s most-followed non-celebrity content creator. 

His journey from viral sensation to becoming one of “Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2023” was a testament to his online influence. 

Seo Won Jeong’s claim to fame began with a simple yet amusing act.

He garnered attention by re-creating videos of other content creators and playfully shouting, “Mama!” This distinctive style propelled him into the limelight, both in Korea and worldwide, earning him the nickname “Mama Guy.” 

His quirky and relatable content resonated with a vast audience, solidifying his status as a beloved TikTok figure.

Despite his immense popularity, Seo Won Jeong abruptly ceased posting on TikTok several months ago, with his last video dating back to July 22, 2023.

This sudden disappearance baffled his followers, and speculation swirled regarding the cause. 

To their shock, news broke that Seo had become embroiled in a legal controversy as he faced allegations of s*xual assault.

On December 22, multiple South Korean news outlets reported that Seo Won Jeong had been arrested on charges of s*xual assault.

The investigation uncovered unsettling details, alleging that Seo and a friend had forcibly intoxicated a female acquaintance to the point of unconsciousness before s*xually assaulting her at another friend’s house. 

The victim’s police complaint led to Seo Won Jeong’s arrest on December 12, marking the beginning of legal proceedings.

As of December 15, the case had moved to prosecution, and the first court trial is scheduled for January 17, 2024. If Seo is found guilty of the accusations, he could face up to seven years of imprisonment.

Seo claimed that the encounter with the victim was consensual, a point likely to be explored further during the upcoming court trial.

The circumstances surrounding Seo Won Jeong’s arrest added to the intrigue of the case. 

Reportedly, Seo and his associates refused to cooperate with the police during the initial investigation, even requiring the assistance of firefighters to gain entry to the premises.

As news of Seo Won Jeong’s arrest spread, his online presence suffered a significant blow. While news outlets initially referred to him as ‘Influencer A,’ netizens quickly identified him, leading to a swift decline in his followers and fame. 

The controversy surrounding his arrest overshadowed his once-thriving social media career, leaving many fans disillusioned.
