Regular players logged into COD MW3 only to find something that made them rub their eyes- they were suddenly on level one of the game.

Refreshes, panic calls, and more troubles later, it was determined that something was very wrong with the game. But this was before the entire game abruptly stopped working. So, what happened with COD MW3 and Warzone? Why are they unavailable?

Call of Duty MW3 and Warzone are facing server woes, causing log-in and progression issues since February 23, 2024. The glitch, dubbed the Minot Myer bug, resets players’ progress, rendering them level one and erasing in-game achievements. Urgent fixes are underway to resolve this chaotic situation.

Players across platforms are encountering a nightmare scenario in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone due to widespread server troubles.

Attempts to log in result in frequent disconnects, with player progression failing to track correctly. The frustration peaks as weapon upgrades, account levels, and event progress vanish into digital oblivion.

The source of the chaos lies in the notorious Minot Myer bug, which has plagued the Call of Duty realm before.

As players grapple with this setback, developers have assured that a resolution is imminent. However, the interim solution involves disabling Ranked Play to address the root cause.

This is why currently, COD MW3 and Warzone are unavailable for playing. The @CODUpdates account has tweeted:

“We’re working on a fix for a known issue that appeared overnight that is preventing progress from being tracked in various areas of the game, including but not limited to events, challenges, Battle Pass, and SR.”

Also, acknowledging the severity of the situation and to prevent further disruption, Modern Warfare Zombies has been shelved until normalcy is restored.

Ranked Play’s functionality took a hit earlier due to Cruise Missiles malfunctioning after a minor update. This compounded players’ woes, exacerbating an already dire situation. Amidst the chaos, fears loomed of permanent progress loss.

However, developers have assured players that a comprehensive fix is in the works, promising a return to normalcy post-update. The @CODUpdates account later tweeted:

“We’ve deployed a fix that has restored Loadout functionality. Work on other issues that originated this morning continues.”

At the time of writing, multiple users have reported that their ranks and levels are back. So overall, despite the setback, the Call of Duty community remains hopeful for a swift resolution to restore their gaming experience.

Has your account details been restored? Will the upcoming fix restore order to the chaotic Call of Duty universe? Or is it one in the line of many? What steps can developers take to prevent similar server issues in the future?
