It is October, meaning Halloween is approaching, which is a source of many spooky TV and reality show seasons. Halloween Wars is one such special show everyone looks forward to this time of the year.
While the series is constantly entertaining, with new competitors showcasing their creativity in making the best Halloween-themed treats, contestants often leave the show midway.
Recently, Team Snax Sabbath, consisting of team members Luke Schroder, Fred Isla, and Jean Schapowal, left the Halloween Wars on October 1, 2023, and their sudden departure left fans confused. While the main reason is not revealed by the show, many speculate that a member of the team had tested positive for COVID-19 or they had some sort of family emergency.
Let’s explore the dilemma in detail below.
What Is Halloween Wars?
Although you might be quite familiar with the show, let’s go over how it works in case any new viewers are reading this. Halloween Wars is a reality competition show where several teams of bakers, candy makers, and pumpkin carvers compete with each other.
Each team is entitled to create the most spooky and Halloween-suited treat, which will then be reviewed by the judges. The team that manages to make the most intricate treat will be rewarded $25,000.
Why Did Team Snax Sabbath Leave Halloween Wars?
While the thirteenth season has been going in full swing this year, a team had to drop out of the competition mysteriously. Team Sabbath, consisting of the members Luke Schroder, Fred Isla, and Jean Schapowal, apparently left the show yesterday.
Snax Sabbath was one of the nine teams competing in the Halloween Wars season 13. In the team, Luke Schroder is the pumpkin carver who works at Addictive Tattoo in Sioux City, Jean Schapowal is the cake artist, and Fred Isla is a sugar artist.
Luke Schroder, especially, has previously been on a few shows, with KTIV being the most recent. After being inspired by Halloween Wars, Luke developed this skill and even carved the faces of News 4 Today’s morning team in 2015.
Unfortunately, this incredible team, who had a great shot at winning the competition, had to leave without notice. While the show didn’t reveal any details, Redditors who have been following the show have made some assumptions.
According to them, the pumpkin carver of Snax Sabbath, Luke, tested positive for COVID-19 during the first day of filming. Furthermore, the judges didn’t taste the food but instead chose to eat something different for the sake of the episode.
One of the team members also had an undisclosed family emergency, leading to the entire team dropping out of the competition. Naturally, that shouldn’t pose a problem because if a teammate can no longer compete, they should be replaced.
At least that’s how Halloween Wars has been proceeding so far, but it looks like they changed the rules this year, and Snax Sabbath was replaced by a team named Pumpkin Up The Volume.
Pumpkin Up The Volume features the contestants Vanessa Greeley (Chef), Timmy Norman (Chef), and Drew Smith (Pumpkin Carver).
So, what do you think exactly happened to the team Snax Sabbath that made them leave the show entirely?
