The tournament, held on August 31, 2023, recorded the highest attendance, with a total of 92,003 attendees. This is the largest crowd gathered on the field of Memorial Stadium in their record. This is also considered a world record for any women’s sport in history.
Previously, the highest record was 91,648 viewers at the UEFA Champions League match in the year 2022 at Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain. Regarding the largest NCAA volleyball regular-season attendance it was 16,833. This attendance was recorded when Wisconsin hosted Florida at the Kohl Center in Madison, dated September 16, 2022.
The Husker volleyball tournament also achieved a sellout streak of 306 consecutive regular-season matches. But, without a doubt, Nebraska’s is an NCAA women’s record and a sellout streak as well. The tournament’s official X (formerly known as Twitter) account posted several updates capturing the moment.
