It is no surprise for Marvel fans that when Wade and Vanessa saw a doctor, they informed them that Wade had advanced cancer that had spread to all of his essential organs. His distorted appearance is also to be blamed because of cancer that he hides beneath his suit.
But with all the powers that he has, why can’t Deadpool get rid of the cancer? Why can’t he get it cured, and why is there a barrier that is stopping his cancer from healing?
Why Can’t Deadpool Heal His Deformed Skin?
Deadpool can’t heal his deformed face because of cancer. Wade Wilson’s appearance is like that because of the same reason. It was revealed in the comics that Deadpool has acute cancer, which he is constantly battling with his healing factor. Both of them live in the same body, much like yin and yang. He was given the healing factor, which prevented both his healthy cells and his malignant cells from dying, giving him a badly scarred look underneath his suit. His deformed skin also causes soreness and pus to grow on his body everywhere.
His face looks like it’s burning, making people wonder why to cant it heal; on the contrary, that’s cancer. Hence, it is clear that his face is not burnt to be healed, but instead, is cancer-ridden. What keeps him going despite having cancer is his healing power; a normal person would easily die with such cancer.
His face and torso weren’t really burned in the movie; rather, they appeared as a result of the extreme conditions Francis had forced him to endure causing his mutant gene to come into play.
One of the most defining characteristics of Deadpool is that his cancer was never really cured! His healing factors are like a blessing in disguise for him, as they not only help him with normal cells but also keep cancerous cells alive.
What Cancer Does Deadpool Have?
In the movie, Reynolds’ Deadpool character Wade Winston Wilson, who had cancer that had spread to his liver, lungs, prostate, and brain, received a diagnosis of metastatic late-stage cancer.
Only that Deadpool had cancer and that it had already spread to his key organs was ever disclosed. He had incurable, terminal cancer before becoming Deadpool, but he ran across the Weapon X Programme, which offered to mutate him in order to treat his cancer. His cancer cells also contain the mutant DNA; therefore, Wade now has super cancer in addition to his superpowers. As a result, his cancer will always be present with him.
His mutant cells sprang to life, and he developed a healing factor that allowed his regeneration cells to fight cancer as quickly as it could develop.
Can Deadpool Have Kids?
It is known that Deadpool has only one biological child, his daughter Eleanor Camacho.
Other than that, if we had to take into consideration his DNA clones as his offspring, we have Deathpool, whom he had with Lady Death, a son made from his and Wolverine’s DNA called Junior, Squirrelpool, with his and Squirrel Girl’s DNA and Itsy Bitsy using Spider-Man’s DNA.
Ellie Preston is the adoptive daughter of Wade Wilson and Emily Preston, as opposed to Eleanor, who was nurtured by Carmelita Camacho alone because Deadpool had left her behind.
