Who Is Vibiana Molina? Viral Trespassing TikTok Video Explained

In another episode of Keeping Up with the Karens, we now witness a blatant disregard for personal boundaries. A recent TikTok video of an unidentified woman wandering around someone’s house petrified the viewers; an unhinged stranger is primarily perceived as a potential threat regardless of the intent.

Unless it is someone seeking urgent help, any other reason for unwarranted entrance to another’s residence is punishable by law.

So why did this woman, who seemingly looked sophisticated, enter someone’s house uninvited?

Viral Trespassing TikTok Video Explained

The video was posted on TikTok by the username @deschwanden; his real name is DeVante Deschwanden.

These are the inferences from the video:

• The video starts recording from the point that the woman is already in the house.
• From the house’s structure, it seems that she has climbed the stairs to the higher floors. She isn’t just roaming at the house’s entrance but has encroached on the private space.
• DeVante is seen coming down the stairs, which means he was on the rooftop. The woman was about to climb the stairs when she saw him.
• In the video, you can hear DeVante addressing the camera and joking, “My first Karen.” After which, he begins conversing with the lady.
• She turns her back and starts booking it downstairs. She says that she will complain to the landowner– implying that DeVante must be renting the house.
• By the very end, DeVante confronts her trespassing, to which she responds, “If you don’t want people to come in, don’t write, ‘Entrance. Third floor. Rooftop'” Thus, deducing that she must have climbed two floors of his house.
• What can be inferred from their conversation:

The woman says, “it is too much,” referring to the usual occurrence that causes a nuisance, according to her.

DeVante also follows her out of the house to her car to get a good view of her license plate number. He also said that she should have just knocked on the door if she wanted to come in, and the lady said that she did knock, but no one could hear it.

From this interaction, it’s evident that the lady lived in the neighborhood, but Deschwanden did not recognize her. To him, she was a stranger.

He explains the situation in the video’s caption:

“Me and my friends were having a small rooftop concert. We notified ALL our surrounding neighbors, including her, that it would be over by 10. It was not 10. Yet, she thought it was acceptable to trespass on our property and walk through our whole house to get to our rooftop and began to threaten us. She was extremely hostile, threatening to call the police, etc.”

Netizens scoured the internet for the identity of the woman, and alas! They never disappoint.

Who Is Vibiana Molina?

Vibiana Molina is currently employed at Chernin Entertainment.

As per the Variety article in 2021: Molina was appointed executive vice president of business affairs, directly reporting to Chernin Entertainment’s president, Jeno Topping.

Before this, Molina was designated Executive Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at Fox 21 Television Studios (per the Deadline report). She also served as EVP of Business Affairs for 20th Century Fox, overlooking the operations and strategy of projects in development. She was involved in crafting new templates for musical series– Ryan Myrphy’s “Glee” and Lee Daniels’s “Star” & “Empire.”

 In an unintentional oxymoron (or should we say Foxymoron), Fox 21 produced the hit series “American Crime Story” while their former employee blatantly trespasses a black man’s property.

Connotations From The Trespassing Incident

Intent 1: Trespassing

As one of the netizens stated, “A label is not an invitation to enter.”

Trespassing cases are unpredictable, considering that the perpetrator has not broken in and entered the premises. This means the intent can be undetermined and highly dangerous for the residents. Ms. Vibiana had not only trespassed but climbed up the floors. Who knows what circumstances would have entailed?

While the video suggests that she entered the house to warn them about the noise, would you have trusted a stranger in your home? What would be your first reaction if you spotted an unknown lady wandering in your house?

Following are the three aspects of trespassing; according to US law:

• The defendant entered someone else’s property willfully.
• The defendant intended to interfere with the other person’s property rights.
• The defendant did interfere with those property rights.

Trespassing is only considered a misdemeanor, and one can be fined $1000 or 6 months in jail.

Intent 2: Racial Aspect

Since DeVante Deschwanden is an African-American, people pointed out that certain racial connotations are in play. DeVante mentioned that he had informed the neighborhood of the concert and the end timing. He also specified that it was not 10 p.m., yet Molina entered the house to complain.

The implication is that she is simply entitled to patrol a black man’s house if she experiences even minor inconveniences.

And she has worked with Fox News…. Just saying.

Intent 3: The Benefit of the Doubt

Since her side of the story is still undisclosed, we can give her some benefit of the doubt.

She mentioned that she did knock on the door, but no one replied. Maybe she entered the house because she thought the concert was an open invitation.

Still, her actions are inexcusable.
