While it is normal for Genshin Impact players to wait for the upcoming banner so that they can use the saved wishes to pull for their favorite character, it is not often that we get an entirely new one.
While Fontaine brought a few new characters to the game, including Neuvillette, Lynette, and Lyney, another character named Skirk has been revealed and will be available soon for the fans.
Skirk is a new Genshin Impact playable character rumored to be a mysterious swordswoman and Tartaglia’s master during his time in the Abyss. While it is unknown when Skirk will be released in the game, Tartaglia hinted that she is remarkably stronger compared to him.
With that in mind, here’s more about the anticipated Genshin Impact character, Skirk, including her voice actor, backstory, and more.
Who Is Skirk in Genshin Impact?
Skirk is an upcoming Hydro character who will be introduced in Chapter IV, Act V: Masquerade of the Guilty. According to Tartaglia (Childe), she is so strong that she can defeat him with a single hand.
During his time in Abyss, Skirk made Tartaglia her apprentice and taught the ways of the Abyss Order to survive and take care of his little brother.
Who Is Voicing Skirk in Genshin Impact?
Following the rumors of Skirk, fans began digging in several forums, including the official app, HoyoLab, and gathered worthwhile information, including the voice actors who will be portraying them in the game.
Here are the voice actors of Skirk in different languages:
- Japanese: Noto Mamiko (Lilith in World Trigger)
- English: Cat Protano (Kira in Warframe)
- Chinese: Xie Ying
- Korean: Seo Dahye (Jellymon in Digimon Ghost Game)
What Is Skirk’s Story in Genshin Impact?
While no reveals have been made about her story arcs, there were a few leaks regarding how she met Tartaglia and her position in the Abyss Order.
Reportedly, when Tartaglia was lost in Abyss, Skirk found him and took him as her apprentice and taught him various abilities. She also sensed that Tartaglia had strange powers related to the All-Devouring Narwhal, a weekly boss in the game.
Furthermore, Skirk is an exceptionally strong swordswoman and one of the most dangerous among the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. Since even the lowest-ranking Fatui gives players a run for their money, it is not a question of whether she is strong.
It is also speculated that Skirk’s abilities will be similar to Tartaglia’s melee combat because she was the one who taught all those skills. So, it makes sense that she will be a Hydro character.
Skirk is believed to live in an ancient dark realm, which may be related to Sheznaya, the long-hyped world in Genshin Impact that could be introduced in 2024 or 2025.
How Does Skirk Look in the Game?
On November 3, 2023, the official Japanese X account of Genshin Impact released the first-look image of Skirk as well as her Japanese VA.
She has a shade of silver hair akin to Keqing and pink eyes with a majestic aura only seen in Archons. It also seems her weapon is a sword, unlike Childe, but we can expect a few similarities between these characters.
Fans across X also compared her to Jingliu from Honkai: Star Rail since both have similar appearances with their hair and eyes.
While we’re not sure when Skirk will be introduced to Genshin Impact, it is only a matter of time because the trailer for “Masquerade of the Guilty” has just been released on the game’s YouTube channel.
So, are you excited to pull for Skirk? In which team do you believe she will fare well?
