The album was named Ruby Blue and received critical praise. Her second album with the name Overpower was launched in the year of 2007, collecting praise in the industry. The scandal caught fire after a user named @u/SkyrimSchmyrim shared a screenshot on her Reddit account of the singer and Joanna Cuddle. In that screenshot, it is noticeable that an account with the name Roisin Murphy shared her views over a snippet of a post shared by Joanna Cuddle. The post also contains a caption and a video that possibly triggered this type of reaction from the singer.
In the post, Joanna accused Murphy of making transphobic comments under a post about the ville transphobe Glinner. Joanna quoted Murphy’s comment on Glinner’s post “ You can’t hide from the truth, cause truth is all there is”.
