Why Was George Removed From the Philadelphia Eagles Game?
George Norcross attended Sunday’s game of Eagles vs. Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field but was unfortunately kicked out of the game by security for displaying an American-Israeli flag from the stands.
Norcross was sitting in a private box beside the former New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie, but displayed the flag of American-Israel, eventually attracting the attention of security personnel.
The whole incident was caught on cameras, and several people have shared it on social media, garnering equally positive and negative opinions on the Eagles.
According to the Eagles’ statement, Norcross has violated their stadium policy of hanging signs of non-event related, potentially and politically offensive, leaving them with no option but to escort him from the private box.
In response, Norcross also released a statement claiming that he is a supporter of Israel and even threatened to sue the Eagles. In his words,
“It remains unclear why the Eagles/NFL believe that the US-Israeli flag should be deemed ‘obscene or indecent’ or otherwise inappropriate — which is what I was cited for — and should therefore be ripped down despite both issuing public statements strongly supporting Israel following the October 7th attacks.”
“But as I consider whether to file suit against the Philadelphia Eagles, the NFL, and the security company that yanked me out of the box and paraded me in front of thousands of fans, I urge other supporters of Israel to make their feelings known to the team and the NFL just as they have to universities like Penn and Harvard.”
In the meantime, netizens took to X (formerly Twitter), expressing their personal opinions on Norcross getting yanked out of the box. Here are a few notable reactions:
