Does road rage justify damaging someone’s vehicle? Regardless of whose mistake it was, no one has the right to use physical altercations.
But this case will leave your blood boiling as the one who made the blunder is the one causing the thunder.
On October 4, 2023, a video went viral on X, showing a rowdy man jumping on a car and smashing the rear window. The car belonged to a woman driving with her girlfriend and two children. The man then proceeded to assault the woman physically. After gaining massive traction, the police hunted the man down, identified as a 26-year-old biker, Cody Heron. At one point, he even pulled out his gun on the victim.
Who Is Cody Heron?
- Cody Heron was reportedly born on October 22, 1996.
- He lives in the 4500 Block of E.Stiles Street in the Frankford region of Philadelphia.
- He apparently used an alternative name, John Caroll, which stalled the investigation further. Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore told ABC that–
“We don’t know if he made that name up and it just happened to be people with that name and then people gravitated to people in this area with that name, or that he was intentionally doxing and or trying to take over that person’s identity.”
- His Instagram @BL_Faceless has been deleted since.
- According to his Instagram bio, he is a self-proclaimed stunt rider.
- ABC reported that “the suspect was with a group of ATV and dirt bike riders.”
What Did Cody Heron Do?
The video, viral on all social media platforms, reflects a harrowing truth about women’s safety.
George Coloney was traveling in Philadelphia in a tourist bus. When the bus stopped at a traffic intersection, Coloney was perplexed at what he saw before his eyes. A bunch of bikers surrounded a car, while two bikers were seen hounding it. George instantly whipped out his phone to record the incident. Here is a breakdown of what transpired after the video started recording.
- The video starts with a man hopping on the rear end of the car and smashing the windows by kicking it (the idiot slipped inside the window).
- The driver came out of the car to confront the man.
- Heron, the perpetrator, put on his helmet while the woman (car driver) approached him.
- His gun fell while he jumped out of the hood. He picked up the gun and pointed it at the woman.
- He proceeded to head-butt the woman in the head and was also seen shoving her.
- The woman pushes his bike, after which he hops on his bike and rides away.
The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office announced on October 4, 2023–
“Members of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office Gun Violence Task Force and Philadelphia Police Department announced charges today against a 26-year-old motorcyclist for his role in the assault of a mother and her two children near City Hall on Sunday.”
Assistant District Attorney William Fritze, supervisor of the DAO’s Gun Violence Task Force, in the news release–
“Thanks to the Philadelphia Police Department for quickly apprehending this dangerous suspect.”
“Cody Heron, who was recklessly riding his motorcycle through the heavily populated streets of Center City Philadelphia while carrying a firearm, senselessly assaulted an innocent woman and her children who were simply going about their evening. Our Gun Violence Task Force fully intends to prosecute this dangerous individual to the fullest extent of the law.”
Cody Heron was apprehended from his residence on the charges of possession of an Instrument of Crime, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and multiple counts of Aggravated Assault. He is being held on 10% of $2.5 million bail.
The Victim In The Philadelphia Incident Reveals Her Side Of The Story
The victim, Nikki Bullock, has come forward to tell her story. According to Miss Bullock, the suspect sideswiped her car at first.
Bullock told ABC 6 what happened after–
“So I started arguing out the window. They start arguing back and forth. The other guy got my attention, and in the meantime, he jumped off the bike and jumped on the car.”
Ms. Bullock was reportedly working for Uber Eats at the time. While the hooligans were attacking her car, she was accompanied by her girlfriend and her two children, 2 and 5 years old. The two little kids in the backseat sustained injuries when the glass shattered all over their heads.
What is your take on this case? Do you agree with people coming to Heron’s defense, stating that his bail is too high since he is a white man?
