A distressing video capturing a harrowing incident in Las Vegas has gained widespread attention, showing what appears to be two teenagers deliberately driving into a retired police chief as he rode his bicycle.

The shocking video depicts two teenagers engaged in a deliberate and alarming act of driving over the retired police officer, Andreas Probst. During this distressing incident, the friends of the teen driver can be heard actively encouraging the reckless behavior, with shouts of “yeah, hit his ass” as the vehicle approached Probst.

The video further captures the driver accelerating towards Probst, with one individual audibly asking, “Ready?” While another passenger records the video footage. For the unversed, the tragic incident occurred as Probst was riding his bicycle around 6 a.m. on August 14th.

The deeply unsettling sequence further shows the car, a 2016 Hyundai Elantra, colliding with the back of Probst, causing him to be thrown through the air. The video has since then sparked outrage over the apparent heartlessness of the act. Probst was left injured and unattended at the side of the road, a scene the perpetrators recorded. Tragically, Probst later succumbed to his injuries and passed away, as he was declared deceased by the hospital, where he was transported for medical treatment.

According to reports, the Metropolitan Police Department has concluded its investigation into the incident near Tenaya Way and Centennial Parkway, determining that the accident was deliberate in nature.

The deliberate nature of the incident has left the community and law enforcement authorities grappling with the implications of an intentional act of violence that resulted in a devastating loss of life.

Authorities received a distress call around 6 a.m. on August 14th, reporting that an incident occurred in which a bicyclist had been struck by a vehicle. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they discovered Probst suffering from “life-threatening injuries.”

Following the incident, the teenager involved was promptly arrested and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center. Subsequently, the charges against the teenager were upgraded to include open murder after law enforcement authorities obtained and reviewed the video evidence of the disturbing incident.

Local law enforcement authorities paid tribute to Andreas Probst’s memory by placing a white ghost bike, symbolizing his passion for cycling, in his honor.

The late retired police officer’s funeral took place in Corona, California, on Saturday, September 9, providing an opportunity for family, friends, and colleagues to gather and commemorate his life.

We hope justice is rightfully served to the family of the deceased.
