His talent and dedication were evident in his exceptional career stats, which included impressive passing yards and touchdowns. These statistics garnered the attention of NFL scouts, leading to his selection by the Green Bay Packers in the 2020 NFL Draft.
While Jordan Love’s professional football career has been marked by promise and potential, his personal life has seen its share of highs and lows. Jordan and his family faced adversity and grief, face-to-face, and it was a long battle.
Jordan Love is the son of Anna and Orbin Love. Both have been an integral part of his journey. His father, Orbin’s tragic suicide did mark a somber phase in his life. However, his mother, Anna, has been a strong pillar of strength for Jordan.
Who Are Jordan Love’s Mother and Father?
Jordan Love, the talented young quarterback, has been making waves in the NFL since being drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2020. However, behind his journey to professional football lies a supportive and close-knit family.
Born on November 2, 1998, in Bakersfield, California, Jordan Love is the son of Anna and Orbin Love. Undoubtedly, his parents played a pivotal role in his development as an athlete and as an individual.
Anna Love, Jordan’s mother, has been a pillar of support throughout his football career. After the tragic death of Jordan’s father, Anna took the responsibility of taking care of her other kids and raised him all by herself.
While Orbin’s decision to end his life was tragic, it also marks one of the most traumatic experiences for Jordan as the talented star was of a tender age when his father passed away. It surely affected him deeply, so much so that for once, he even considered quitting football. However, he stayed determined through the difficult time and emerged as a strong player.
What Happened to Jordan Love’s Father?
The story of Jordan Love’s family carries with it both moments of triumph and tragedy. Orbin Love, Jordan’s father, was not only a dedicated family man but also a former quarterback who played at the high school and college levels, including at the junior college (JC) level.
However, his life took a tragic turn when he worked as a sergeant at the local police department in Bakersfield, California.
In 2013, the Love family faced an unimaginable shock with the sudden and tragic loss of Orbin. His suicide left many perplexed, wondering about the underlying reasons behind his heartbreaking decision. While some suspected mental health issues like depression might have played a role, his wife, Anna, provided a different perspective.
Anna Love revealed that Orbin had been prescribed a new medication for his blood pressure a year before his suicide. Shortly after starting this new medication, he began displaying unusual and concerning behavior, which ultimately led to a distressing incident where he barricaded himself inside a bathroom with a large butcher knife.
Following this alarming episode, Orbin received treatment in a mental health center and reverted to his previous medication. He appeared to be on the road to recovery.
However, a year later, he was once again prescribed new blood pressure medication, and tragically, his behavior took a similar distressing turn, echoing the previous year’s events. Eventually, Orbin decided to take his life.
Jordan’s mother, Anna, took on the responsibility of caring for Jordan and his three sisters, Kami, Emily, and Alexis, after the loss of Orbin.
Don’t you think Jordan has shown massive resilience to have made his name despite such challenges?
