TikTok is full of people who love being sarcastic and poking fun at themselves as well as others. However, sometimes, the good intentions get misinterpreted by many, and they end up on the wrong side of the lane.
Something similar happened to Elijah Jamerson. The Tiktoker, known for his positive vibes, became embroiled in a situation that made him give a tearful apology to his audience.
In October 2023, TikToker Elijah Jamerson made a video saying there would be a surprise from him on Halloween at his Olathe North High School in Kansas. But his schoolmates mistakenly thought he meant a school shooting. Jamerson gave a lengthy apology on TikTok, saying, “I’m sorry. I’m sorry that all of you were scared.”
What Made TikTok Star Elijah Jamerson Give An Apology?
Elijah Jamerson is known for his cheerful, charming, and funny TikTok content. But the content creator recently apologized tearfully, breaking down in front of the camera and saying to his 180k followers on his account @spiritualpressure00:
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry that all of you were scared and terrified and that I have caused you to feel this way. I didn’t want this, okay? I was just having fun. I don’t want to hurt people. I don’t want people to be scared. I never wanted this.”
He further added:
“You know when I planned this big grand reveal I was just going to dress in a hoody with spikey bracelets, LED masks, and boots. I was just going to take spooky photos with people. I don’t want to hurt people. I want to make my life worth remembering. I don’t want to be remembered as some kind of monster.”
His words surprised many in the comments section. Some comforted him and said they didn’t think any bad of him. However, others wanted to know what the hell was going on.
Soon after making this apology, he went private. But what caused this colossal hullabaloo?
Elijah Jamerson is an Olathe North High School student in Olathe, Kansas. He became famous after being interviewed by Braden Hales, who was promoting the school’s football team.
He was adored online for his catchphrases like ‘Keep worshipping me’ and flexibility. After all, he folded himself backward while looking upside-down at the camera. Within two weeks, the video went viral and garnered 8 million views and more than a million likes.
In October 2023, he announced on his TikTok account that he would surprise his classmates during Halloween. His words were misinterpreted, and many of his schoolmates thought that he was going to show up that day with a gun.
This rumor became viral, and as a result, many didn’t come to school that day. The now-deleted video probably resulted in a backlash in his real life, which prompted him to make the apology video.
Since he had a high profile at school, with many following him online after the viral Hales video, his words were mistakenly assumed to mean the worst. After all, almost every school in the US takes extra precautions against possible shootings.
Many of his viewers are worried for his mental health after this incident. He has yet to give any updates about himself since the apology video.
What do you think about this intense instance of miscommunication? Will Elijah’s mental health recover from the allegations?
